In the spirit of Friday, what's giving you a little surge of niceness at the moment? Can be anything at all: letching over office totty, weekend plans, wearing new underwear, whatever you like.
Positively Fabulous Eating a scrumptious piece of shortbread from a tin that was brought to work as a leaving gift by a not-so-sadly departed colleague, and sipping the cup of tea that was just bought for me and brought to my desk. Knowing that my boss is going to give me a bottle of champagne at lunchtime for a recent successful project and that my efforts were noted and that I'm well regarded. Idly considering the haircut I will get tomorrow, and the cheesy theatre night out that I'll be going on to. Remembering that my friend is cooking me Sunday lunch.

Zyban. I am taking the anti-smoking medication and it is speeeedy. My sleep needs have retreated to 4 hours per night, and my typing speed has accellerated past its usual 75 wpm into some kind of hyperwarp buzzhole, which is fun.

I'm feeling chipper this morning, which makes me realise how long it is since I felt like this. It's gr9.
Things making me happy: Seeing dearest pals this evening for birthday party Hosting lunch tomorrow for funny people. The meal will involve eating the quince jelly I made. Myself. From quinces in the garden. Surely I am Nigella Lawson. The fact that I seem to be much more ahead with work than I thought. The fact that I don't live in East Manchester, where I went yesterday.

The fact that sometimes you learn things that you didn't think would be true.
This morning a chapter of the book I am reading (Rally Round the Flag, Boys! by Max Shulman) involved a group of advertising executives who are trying to come up with a way to tie in a breakfast cereal sponsorship deal with a TV show.
They start spouting the sort of wankspeak that I thought was very recent in creation - things like 'blue-sky it', 'hoist it up the flagpole and see who salutes', all those expressions.
But! The book was published in 1959.
Okay, so not a happie as such, but still.
I know a happie - a photo I've just seen of London and Uber as kids. That's just great, that is.

My current happie would probably be starting to enjoy a bit of current music again. I don't know why because it hasn't changed much recently and isn't particularly original, but there's been some kind of subtle change that is actually making me look at the "Now Playing" text on the radio when songs are playing.
Like they just played The Holloways song Generator...
I can get a record player, and a generator, generate the music that makes you feel better
...which is just a daft, inspiringly chirpy little track.
Now they're playing Like A Pen by The Knife which is sort of electronica pop. I like the recent Beck singles as well, what was it? Oh Yeah I think and Cellphone's Dead or something. I nearly bought the new album the other day but couldn't see Oh yeah on the tracklist, unless it's called something else?
So, yeah, maybe it's just me but I'm hearing a freshness around the place all of a sudden.

yeah same here dang! i think it might just be the time of year but i have actually been able to listen to radio one for more than ten minutes without thinking about that line in that book by the man who wrote about things that dont exist any more* where he says that yes, modern music is crap but not as crap as going on about how crap modern music is.
*putting the italicsed words into google brought up no results. if someone could remind my poor addled brain what this book is and who its by, that would be ace! it came out last year.

other than that- the possibility of moving into a house owned by a woman who has spent the last 20 years collecting 1950s kitsch. its only a possibility, but theres a bar shaped like a boat in the living room and the fridge is pink. IVE GOT TO MAKE THIS POSSIBILITY A REALITY! I MUST WORK TOWARDS THIS END WITH ALL MY MIGHT.

Are you thinking of Lost Worlds by my beautiful lovely future husband even though he's really old Michael Bywater?
Dang, The Knife is awesome! I'm listening to the album Silent Shout right now. You should totally get it!

Someone offered me some coffee flavoured white choclate cups and I was scronf scronf scronf until someone said they had come from someones five year hamper. Now I have the taste of chocolate at the back of my mouth and it is the wrongiest taste. It taste guilty.

My current niceness-induced urges are being effected by the fact that I move house on Monday, therefore I'll be leaving the scally-infested streets of the Reddish/Gorton border for good. Woo hoo!
Edit: oh, and the live breaks mix that I'm currently listening to, courtesy of www.nuskoolbreaks.co.uk.
Edit2: and after 102 votes, my photo on Hot or Not has now garnered a rating of 8.3. My brother's photo, which he posted on there to challenge me, has achieved a rating of fucking 7! That'll learn 'im.

You might think I'm stupid, but I'm not that stupid. Suddenly, following a bout of zero ratings being posted out of 'nowhere', Zygote's rating plunges to 7...

Yeah, he seemed really drunk mostly because he kept on saying how drunk he was and apologising for his behaviour. He was acting fine actually, if a bit child who'd drunk too much pop.

B-b-but you'll laugh at it. It was one taken of me on holiday, just before going into a restaurant wearing a suit. I look a bit gay in it.

Post it, please. I've never seen a restaurant wearing a suit.
