So far:

The swing is 'interesting'. I don't know what that means, but my brother is a politico (worked for various MPs. Sacked by most of them, but there you go..) and that is what he says.

Paxman is being Paxman. One day he will sneer himself to death.

FIGHT IN ROMFORD. ONE CANDIDATE HOSPITALISED. ELECTION IN DANGER OF BEING INTERESTING

Well we don't have a telly, see, and we're in the States.

So "no", really. Sorry.

More talking at the moment. I suppose I should tell you all how I voted, you know, make it personal.

I went for Lib Dem. I have voted Labour all of my life but this time...I just can't do it. It's the handling of Iraq, ID cards, tuition fees and Geoff Hoon.

Oh, and David Kelly.

And my brother being sacked.

The catchphrase of the night amongst my friends who are with me is 'Well alright', said in Welsh accent. It's a tribute to Neil Kinnock's notorious sheffield rally in '92.

Some place in Scotland is returning. Labour again.

Score so far is Labour 4, Cons and Libs 0.

I'll join you for a while - will be up at least until the Battersea result is in - probably later.

I'm not holding my breath at the moment, I want to see some of the marginal results coming in - see if the Lab to Lib swing is as prevalent and what that does to the Tory seats.

I'm feeling all prickly and excited.

If it's not a too personal question, how did you vote?

I sent a wayward mark in the direction of the Greens. I think tactical voting is dangerous - it gets in the way of the issues and is misleading. The Lib Dems and Tories are going to walk away from tonight thinking that people love their policies, but in truth, it's just people 'sending a message' to TB. This pisses me off greatly.

We need someone to have the balls to take on electoral reform.

George Galloway is ahead in Bethnal Green. How they know that, I don't know.

I read Galloway's book 'Not the only one', and I wasn't impressed. His wife (girlfriend?) was in the Times on Sunday saying that she's dumping him for his womanising. I would have thought she would dump him for having an affair with himself.

I agree with you there. I find the whole Party Politics thing too black and white. Proportional (mong spelling) makes sense to me.

A nine percent swing. My brother said 'Fucking hell' so I'm assuming it is important.

It's important if it's reflected in the marginals too.

PR is the way forward. Seriouslah.

Issues, like I said before.

Ok, so they aren't too good at putting forward a short, digestible manifesto, but their overall approach is far better. I'd quite like to see more decisions being made that takes in social and environmental concerns and not just economic ones. No major party is doing that in any real way.

Labour hold Hull west. So far, Cons and Libs have no seats.

What would happen if a one party won every seat? Surely we would then have a democratically elected single-party state. Is that allowed?

Just asked the 'expert', my brother. He said they could do anything they want. Some people pay him for that.

More people have turned up here. They are really pissed.

CONSERVATIVES HAVE TAKEN PUTNEY.

Big swing for them there. Scary.

A more reliable source, Andrew Marr on the beeb, says that the Putney result is very good news for the conversatives.

The conversation here is about the fact that Anna Ford used to be fit.

The attitude on the TV is one of 'Ladies and Gentlemen, we have ourselves an election'

Meg and Mask, what you doing right now? Are you at home? Are you drinking a whiskey or a cup of hot chocolate?

I always imagine Mask is sharpening an axe.

I've been drinking Theakston's Old Peculier all night and I've still got a fridge full of the stuff. So, I'm going to be in a right fucking state. Very shortly.

At least you can't chuck your remote at the telly if you don't like the election results.

The current Lab(24), LD(2), Con(1) score would indicate that I don't have to worry too much about my fucked up assisted vote. Glad I got out of that one.

Prescott has held his seat. I'm not sure if I like him or not. He did punch a farmer and christ knows we've all wanted to do that.

Prescott's speech was a tad triumphant. Someone here said 'You shouldn't buy the Rizlays before you buy the draw'. Twat.

Bob Marshall Andrews voted against the war, and he's lost his seat. He said the campaign against him was dirty.

Ahhh... that's what always happens, though. Isn't it. Then you pass out on the sofa at about 02:37, you come round in the bright-morning-room with the telly shouting, looking, mainly, like a fortnight-dead bush baby and the fucking Tories are standing outside No. 10 with their evil grins.
