I'd love to spin it out as a drawn out dramatic tale but I'm too fucked to type.
Way ahead of schedule, at 27.5 weeks, my two sons were born last night. It was a terrifying birth of two premature very little boys. Biggie was 1.07kg and Smalls was 865 grams. Their hands are about the size of my thumbnail. They'll both be in special care for up to two months and it's expected to be a rollercoaster ride through Hell during that period. But, right now, they're both well, they're both getting the best possible care and they both look like miniture babies, rather than aliens. Daddy, on the other hand, looks like shit from space. I'm going to bed for two hours.

Oh Wow! Oh that is wonderful. I'm sorry they scared you, but so pleased they are doing OK. The two months will seem like ages, I bet, but it won't really be that long before they're home with daddy- and mummy, who must be well knackered but very happy.

Smalls came off his ventilator tonight and is breathing using his own tiny lungs. Biggie is progressing slower but he did manage to piss in his own face tonight, right in front of me (as if to rub it in that I'm not allowed to go out, get drunk and do exactly the same thing anymore). I told him if he can manage to toss it over his head and against the wall, like his father could in his heyday then I'd give him a prize...a Christian name or something.

We've got fives names in the hat, it will be some perm of them for first and middles. We're holding back on making a decision until we've had the opportunity to hold the kids. Which may be tomorrow.
Don't ask me, Mum seems to think it will all become clear when we hold them.

This is 1000% correct. When rooster and I picked out a name for our daughter (before she was born), we made the mistake of mentioning it to my grandmother. Her reaction, after making us repeat the name twice was "oh, well, I probably won't see her that often anyway."

Splendid news about Biggie999 and Smalls999. Keep the news flowing Daddy. (My kids' swimming teacher refers to me as "Daddy". It's most disconcerting. "He's done very well today, Daddy." B-but you don't even look like me.)
The names things is very odd. When I told my mum that we were calling our youngest Clem - i.e. Clement - she said, "But the other kids at school will call him Clementine!" Eh? Like they call Mandy "Mandarin", Prunella "Prune" and Bananadisha "Grapefruit"? What kind of surreal, fruit salad fixated school did you go to?
She might be right though, I dunno.
