Because we have the freedom to purchase firearms. Go ahead...try that in your so-called free Germany...
Yeah, that's true. We don't have the freedom to electrocute people to death either, or inject them with lethal chemicals.
In places like Somalia and Saudi Arabia and that, they have the freedom to stone people to death as well. It's just not fair.

Well, it's sort of a basic principle, isn't it? The first settlers, the revolution, Independence, the Constitution, civil war, civil rights... all their key moments have been about freedom.
That applies to quite a lot of other places too though, doesn't it? I suppose we go on about it quite a lot in Britain as well (bla bla Magna Carter, bla bla House of Commons, bla bla Battle of Britain), though in recent years we seem to have had a change of policy and decided that you can have too much of a good thing, especially if you is forren.

Pity. No, what you have is the freedom to incarcerate scum of the earth murderers and get the added bonus of having to pay for it with your own hard-earned money.

It costs more to the tax payer to put a prisoner to death than it does to keep them in prison for the rest of their life.

It must be nice for 'Merkans not to have a president who's personally agreed to the executions of over 200 people.

quote:Yet the administration of capital punishment is actually much more expensive than life imprisonment. From 1977-1988, Florida spent 57 million dollars executing 18 prisoners, an average cost of 3.2 million dollars, as opposed to 500,000 dollars to put someone in jail for life. Studies in New York, Maryland, Colorado, North Carolina and Kansas have all found capital punishment to be more expensive than its alternative punishment

It's got nothing to do with money anyway. It's all about Freedom. I'm sure that killing them all is worth every last goddamned cent.

We've had three great examples here in the UK of the basic problem inherent in the death penalty (IT'S FINALITY) - Barry George John Marcus Roberts and that fella who got released on DNA evidence recently.
Basically the police are often at best shit, at worst, corrupt and until they're perfect we shouldn't have the death penalty. So never then.

What about if it's bad people? You know - like terrorists, or the bloated children of Satan populating the Western World whose very existence is an affront to Allah? Is it wrong to kill jocks? Or child molestors? Or a woman who's been leading you on all night like a filthy slut only to turn frigid out here in the car park with no-one around? Is killing 'wrong' in these circumstances? Eh?Posts: 13759

In all other cases, though, killing people is wrong. Certain circumstances may lend specific killings the sheen of heroism or duty or justice, but fundamentally killing people is wrong.

lol. I hope you remember that when someones trying to kill you.
Hang on... I thought you said that if you kill someone your own life is forfeit end of story ... so ... I don't understand what point you're trying to make to Black Mask here?

If you kill someone in self defense that's ok...but I'm hoping (praying, really) that BM doesn't agree and just lets his attacker kill him without fighting back.

Where on Earth did I say that? I'm just hoping that you'll not fight back just in case you accidentally might kill someone.

Or... if you think killing's wrong you shouldn't be allowed to defend yourself if someone tries to kill you?
That's quite a skill you've got there, ralph. You can say something spectacularly stupid, then explain yourself and make what you said in the first place sound even stupider.

No no no. I'm saying you shouldn't be allowed to defend yourself if someone tries to kill you. The rest of us are free to do so.

I can't address ralph directly for too long, I start to feel like... one of those Jewish trustees who were made to feed the furnaces at the death-camps.
