Yeah, mine too. It doesn't matter, though. Can you think of one person who talks about their 'career' who isn't a colossal wanker?

if you do a good job, I'll get my gf to take them into work - capital fm - and play them to jonny and lisa, landing you one of the most prestigious jobs in commercial radio production in the country, and putting mikee and me on the airwaves.

We were going to do music (which is ablatant excuse to promote bands I'm putting on) film and video games. Just sort of talk about them properly and banter in an amusing way. Well I am going to. He's probably actually going to doze off. I don't know, it might be unfunny as fuck. I was hoping we could go for a sort of honest deconstruction of them yet ....enthusiastic? The whole 'this is shit-is funny' schtick that zeropunctuation does isn't my cup of tea. I'd like to make rocking the fuck out, watching obscure films and playing computer games unashamedly cool for 30-somethings to do without apology. Dan maher is like, 24 or something. And a prick.

Radio is a hard industry to get into. Really, unless your very lucky, you have to do lots of working for free. That gets harder and harder the older you get as you have more responcibilities and things you need to pay for (i'm already getting nagged about when im gonna propose)

Dude, you're 24! You're a long way from having to think about responsibilities and giving up the dream to meet your financial obligations. Also, who the hell gets married in their early twenties in this day and age? What's the big fucking rush, man?

No, not at all, but I think there's a certain kinship for losers like benway and I who managed to build a real camaraderie and yet obliterate my esteem by saying 'that's us isn't it? 30 years old and only just starting our careers...' and you just realise the spods, the geeks, the do-gooders of the world were building a 10 year career while we were dick-arsing around in temp jobs, boozing it up through the week and generally getting a lot of shit not done. This is our response to the world. We're never going to be throwing handfuls of dollar bills onto the floor as a tiny latino dances to 'shake that ass bitch' - We'll never own a yacht to go sailing. No-one will ever suck a dick for a ride in our Ferrari. But that's OK world because we have a podcast.

Actually I'm doing it because I just wanted to do something actually good you know? Just a small thing like a film or music review that would be fun to do and fun for people to listen too. It like, 20 people listened to it from start to finish I'd be happy.

First six months after leaving uni i moved to london did loads of work experiance for radio stations and production companies while doing min wage promotion work for a radio station. Eventually ran out of money and maxed out overdrafts so.....

An admirable goal. I like it. Bloody clever things, though, radio dramas. Have you tried making any yourself, just for fun? I mean, do you have a vast collection of sound effects records and so on? Ooh, look, sound effect mp3s. You could build a whole half hour drama around "Metal Bang" and "Metal Roll".

I am amazed that this forum has lasted so long! It has been here in its present form since April 2002 when Seethru closed down.
It has never been a particularly busy forum yet it has amazingly managed to attract a slow trickle of new posters over the year and keep itself ticking over.
I don't post on here hardly these days so when coming back for a peek today I was surprised to see it still going.
