In which case, that's totally cool, you're totally cool, and congratulations on your success. I'm very pleased for you. [Smile]

A little bit of minorly good news I had recently, is that the uni I work for will pay my PhD fees. I still have to work in order to earn in order to live, so I don't know when I'll find time to actually do it, but hey, its a little step in the right direction.

Yeah that does look great -- similar to the ESB poster but not so close that it's just a copycat pastiche and one-joke one-sheet wonder.

I don't think I have done anything much to be proud of recently except for spending 2 weekends and several weeknights compiling validation body documents, which went down well with my bosses. I had never worked on this kind of educational admin before and it did at least prove to me that I can be good at a new type of research and writing if I put my mind to it, but it is such ponderous borderline-bullshit stuff that being good at it is really only like being a more professional and competent David Brent.

No, but. Normally I spend my days feeling that I should be ashamed and sorry about something - slacking at work, drinking too much, smoking when I've given up, not being as ace and fantastic as I should be, etc., but your post and excellent credit made me think that there was, or is, something that I have done or achieved recently that I am proud of. The thing is, I don't know what it is.

I think I'm drunk. Sorry.

Wow Waynster! That is totally impressive. No wonder you are proud of yourself!

I've not done anything special to be proud of recently. A few minor achievments, but nothing awesome.

things i'm proud of and that have made me happy recently (apart from the obvious):
managing to get a 4kb insert into a gateway destination vector without resorting to the use of a donor vector first.

er, i'm not drinking as much.
i'm organising my lab book.

er, not a lot else

Blow that trumpet like a cock and balls where the semen is actually liquid gold.

You should try to be less modest sometimes Waynster and shoot from the hip like this. Creativity is all doctor and nurses when it comes to self promotion.

Also, it'll make Thorn swell with laddish pride. He might put a banana in your arse out of respect.

That's excellent! Fantastic stuff, and hey! The albums out in the shops today. So that's just added to the already 'good start' to my week.

Coo-el.

I like the way your parents chose to counteract the posh sound of your surname with an earthy, working class first name.

What I object to is the colour of some of these wheelie bins and where they are left, in some areas outside all week in the front garden.
