Personally this doesn't bother me in the slightest, and fairplay to him, Harry seems to be taking over from his Grandad as most entertaining Royal.
Could have made a bit more effort with that costume though, it's shit.

I was gonna say, with the wealth and resources he must have to hand, that is a fucking rubbish fancy dress costume.
I do get the impression with stories like this that those who are purported to be outraged, like the Jewish Council of GB or whatever, probably have more important/interesting things to worry about, and only make a reaction when prodded by breathy tabloid reporters.
Sky News researcher: "OMG, did you hear that Prince Harry dressed as a NAZI????!! Don't you think that's TERRIBLE????!!!"
Jewish Council receptionist: "er, probably, I guess."

Seeing as the stories are all about how he's been pulled up on his outfit, I'm suprised we haven't had a Bang to Reichs headline. If I was one of the journos, I would definitely have gotten the CofE to comment, so I could write a "Church-Ill at Harry's WWII blunder" headline. But then sometimes I think I'm the only person that writes articles just to fit a punsome headline.

I thought of this one when immediately after hearing about this rather silly story. Oh well.
I don't want to sound predictable but in spite of my not being a fan of Harry's, I think this story should have been seen as the non-event it was. If you go to any fancy dress shop on the street, you will always see your comedy Nazi uniform. So Harry wore a Nazeee armband to a fancy dress party. Big deal.
I am not in the slightest but surprised that the usual brow-beaters have crawled out of their holes and come out in force. After all, the Holocau$$$t story is central to their very existence, and they will take any opportunity to wheel it out and flog the masses with their rather tiresome guff. Frankly, I found the suggestion that Harry should make a public apology in front of the world to be bizarre in the extreme.
What I was particularly disturbed about however was the uniform itself, which was incorrect on many counts. If "Holocaust Hal" did hire it from a fancy dress shop, he should demand his money back. If he had it made, he should fire his tailor. Or in true Nazi style, shoot him.
In truth, I think he made it himself, probably while intoxicated.

Methinks you are being too generous to those whose vested interest it is to trot out this story at every given opportunity.

Really? You don't find it at all inappropriate that a member of the royal family (paid a shitload of money to represent the country) dressed as a Nazi? For all our post-Brass Eye back-slapping, I reckon it was in pretty poor taste. Of course it doesn't affect me personally, but in the end the Nazis were far from hilarious. I go with Benway's headline - Prince Harry is Fucking Twat.
Or maybe it's the people he's apologising to that bothers you? I don't like the idea of assuaging the outraged egos of Sun readers everywhere, but I do think it was a fucking stupid thing to do and his public persona has always dictated that you can't really do things like that and expect to get away with them.

Yes, I think it's the fact that he dressed up as Goering that's the biggest insult to the Sun readers. That implies some sort of specific support for the Blitz on top of his obvious contempt for the Jews. If he'd dressed as Rommel no one would have batted an eyelid. Thoroughly decent fellow, Rommel.

I suppose it's not surprising that this kind of thing happens. It was a pretty lame party to begin with though, something to do with colonies or something. These people live on a different planet to the rest of the country - they really have no idea about the kind of reality that most people endure, and as such, they don't think in the same way.
Presumably Harry doesn't understand things which are pretty obvious to most of us, a bit like our own Rick J, so perhaps it's a little harsh to criticise him for being anything other than hopelessly out of touch or simply deluded. And you can hardly blame him for suffering from either of those, as he's almost guaranteed to have had a pretty bizarre childhood and a morally brutalising education experiece. Same with Harry.
He's a playboy idiot heir in a whacked out family. I'd wager that this freakshow is the least of the peculiar things that he gets up to. It's only shocking in that people can be shocked. There isn't much that he could do that would amaze me. He's a Prince ffs.
