Why? I wasn't trying to be ghoulish, I was just suprised that, considering quite a few of us live in London, with all the extended friendship networks that that implies, nobody on here knew anybody who'd been hurt.

Bizarrely, I know someone who was on one of the trains. The father of one of the other kids in my son's class at school, just happened to be in London on the wrong day. He was up the other end of the train though.

Of course, he would normally have been in the exact carriage where the bomb went off, but he had a weird urge to go in a different carriage on that morning. [Roll Eyes] I imagine Death is stalking him right now, cheated of an expected soul. If anyone sees Death wandering around, peering at an A-Z and looking a bit lost, give me a call. I'll drop him off right outside the door.

Interesting to note that the death penalty for treason was only abolished 7 years ago, in 1998. Dunno what the punishment is now though, and the bombers appear to have killed themselves anyway, but they might catch someone else that was involved down the line somewhere.

A public hanging, drawing and quartering would probably draw huge crowds and get London's tourism industry back on its feet instantly.

If they caught more than one, they could save one for the Olympic opening ceremony. To Make A Statement To The Terrorists.

These google ads are working spot on. There's a link above to help thank Tony Blair for his support in Iraq. Bless.

If we talk about gay shit-eating priests enough do you think we'll get some excellent links?

LOL

You've got to read these. Some of them are priceless.

Example:

quote:
I offer my sincerest thanks, and most profound apology. When you rose to office, I held you in low regard due to your apparent friendship with the previous occupant of the Oval Office.

In the years since, I have come to realize that your friendship was with the U.S., and would not be dissipated by a temporary lapse in our voters' judgement. As such, I must now proclaim that, contrary to my previously held views, you are at least half the man that Maggie Thatcher was!

Thanks again from the father of a U.S. soldier.

- Florida, USA
-------------------

Thanks for uniting with the U.S. in the Iraq conflict. You took a lot of heat for that. We appreciate you.

YOU ROCK!

- California, USA
-------------------

Thank you, Prime Minister Blair, for your unwavering and principled stand. You actually did something to improve mankind's lot, striking a blow against brutality and for human rights (while critics at home and abroad vented hot air).

You have our heartfelt thanks, Mr. Blair.

P.S. On a lighter note: My wife has shifted her home decorating tastes from French Country to English Country in the aftermath of the war.

Maybe now's the time to make the carrying of weapons legal in London? That way, if you saw some creep looking jumpy on the tube and fiddling with his rucksack you could take the fucker out.

BBC News saying the fourth bomber was a Jamaican-born UK resident!

When I was scanning around the radio for news last Thursday I came across Radio 2 which was playing "reassuring" stuff like Bob Marley's Three Little Birds - Don't worry, 'bout a thing, cos every little thing's gonna be alright.

(Just to balance Jamaica's contribution to the incident.)

Don't worry. I'm sure the U.S. military are poised to invade and 'liberate' the resorts of Jamaica to preempt any further incidents of this nature. Operation Club Med, natrually.

The police haven't confirmed that these guys died in the blasts. They could've just left ID in their rucksacks with the bombs, while they made good their escapes. They could still be out there. With more bombs.

In my office, this woman has been blaming the bombings on the illegal immigrants, saying that they want to turn this country into an Islamic state. I thought she would shut the fuck up when it came out that they were British born, but no...illegal immigrants made them do it.

She once claimed that the price of bread has gone up because of illegal immigrants. It's scary how much she believes this. I argued with her that her belief in these sort of scare stories is a fruit from the same tree that leads young men to blow themselves up, but I just got a blank look.

To be fair, blank is her normal expression.

In the local Cancer Research charity shop yesterday, when the foreign-speaking Muslim family left, the women who work on the till began describing how they'd pile all the immigrants onto "one big boat" and send them back where they came from. Charity shop workers, FFS! They are supposed to be KIND. And they're the fuckers who think four pounds is a fair price for a grotty old Wordsworth Classics paperback which you could buy for half the price brand new. Twatting charity shops.

It'd have to be one very, very big boat, wouldn't it?

They are kind... to the True English!

Facts:
All illegal immigrants are poor.
All poor people visit charity shops.
All charity shop workers are old people.
All old people are racist.

It's not a good situation!

Has anyone just received a random email saying that the Met are almost certain there will be another Tube attack soon?

What I object to is the colour of some of these wheelie bins and where they are left, in some areas outside all week in the front garden.

No, but I got one saying that Bluewater will be a target this weekend.

Please, Allah...

Actually, that Met Commisioner chap was on the radio this morning and he said that although there is every possible that there are more attacks planned - as there have been for the past few years - they have no definate information about any particular target.

But it could just as well be a viable premise for a reality television series, no?

[theme music]

We've taken poor illegal immigrants and racist elderly thrift store workers and put them in a sealed storefront. Last week, we watched as Lucy beaned Hameed with a dusty kettle. What will happen tonight?
