Not really what you want to tell kids is it ?
Even if it is true.
It's bad enough that this stuff happens and ruins childhoods and ruins lives, leave the kids with some hope I say, just make them aware of what's going on.

I wondered about that. There's nothing on the official site or Digital Spy to suggest they did. I'm assuming they'll be trying to find out whether any friends or relatives have been involved, though...

I've been saying for years that they should tell the BB housemates that there'd been a huge terrorist attack in Britain... it didn't occur to me that one MIGHT actually happen and they wouldn't tell them...
I'm sure that idea's occurred to other people as well, possibly including the housemates. Would they believe ANYTHING they were told, or just assume it was a game?

He is fine now thanks. Was sitting on the floor drinking Jack daniels when I got in, but is now happily playing World of Warcraft.

If anyone knows that anyone else is safe could they just pop a quick note on this thread and let us know please.
Thanks
thanks Darryn. I am fine and now back home. Emailed Sky earlier and she is okay though did say she heard a bomb (not sure where). Fish is indeed in Africa.
Packages arriving in my building were being x-rayed and security stepped up. Felt quite safe there despite the Oxford Street location. My sister was more closely affected, going to the bakerloo Edgware Rd station slightly later than usual, being evacuated from the platform and then getting on a bus. She sat on the bus for 30 mins and it barely moved. When she saw more and more police in the area she decided to get off and go home. She can see the fire engines and such at the Circle line station from her window.

quote:KILMEADE: And he [British Prime Minister Tony Blair] made the statement, clearly shaken, but clearly determined. This is his second address in the last hour. First to the people of London, and now at the G8 summit, where their topic Number 1 --believe it or not-- was global warming, the second was African aid. And that was the first time since 9-11 when they should know, and they do know now, that terrorism should be Number 1. But it's important for them all to be together. I think that works to our advantage, in the Western world's advantage, for people to experience something like this together, just 500 miles from where the attacks have happened.
VARNEY: It puts the Number 1 issue right back on the front burner right at the point where all these world leaders are meeting. It takes global warming off the front burner. It takes African aid off the front burner. It sticks terrorism and the fight on the war on terror, right up front all over again.
KILMEADE: Yeah.
So, you see, every cloud has a silver-dollar lining.

I'm so glad everyone's ok. I've been stuck without a computer all day and I left my bloody mobile in bloody Bristol on Tuesday and didn't get it back until tonight.
Have heard from my brother who lives Central London so am very relieved as he's usually coming home on the tube around 9 am ish.
On a totally selfish note, I was supposed to be getting the train to London today to go to a meeting and cancelled it late yesterday afternoon. I'm very glad I did this.
