Man, I didn't consider that.
I want proof. I want a picture of QOTSA doing some plastering or something in ZB's flat.

That absinthe stuff takes time to really send you off. I had some in a bar once after a lunchtime beer session, went back to work, went home... passed out at about 6pm and woke up at 3am, no recall. That sort of scenario.
I'm not really that keen on drugs where you don't remember anything. It's like paying to get into Alton Towers and then finding yourself driving home going, "Er, did we go that Nemesis thing? Or anything else?"

Yeah I got absolutely cunted on the first and only night I ever drank absynthe. It was at a party at a mate's house, and me and another chap bought a large bottle between us. I can't remember drinking much, in fact I can't remember much of anything. But what i do remember is dry retching for about 4 hours the next morning, and then discovering that me andmy mate had more or less polished off the entire bottle, plus a bottle of tequilla. I drank a lot that night.

In fact I'm pretty sure at one point, having run out of mixers for vodka, I tried a vodka/ketchup shot. This was possibly the most vile thing I've ever put in my mouth, and let's face it that's really saying something. I was quite possibly instantly sick. I'm not really sure.

I may also have drunk 2 shots of fabric softener, just to demonstrate how much of a crazy bastard I am. I am a crazy bastard you know. Fucking tapped.

Okay mate, added you to my contacts, is Darryn on there? Can't find him under his normal emails or any variation of his name?

I love your site -- the branding, the portraits, the overall consistency of the icons, the underground-network stylings, the world-conquering confidence of the concept. I didn't enjoy NOthing so much though, I'm afraid. After three careful listens I think my problem with it is the stubborn refusal to give the listener a tune except briefly in the chorus -- instead, there's a riot of textures and layers, which are interesting but make the track sound like a hoover being rattled around in a cupboard full of brillo pads and metal pots. I appreciate the idea of a scratchy, raw, messy aesthetic, but in practice it was hard to enjoy, and for some reason the vocals felt clumsily basic rather than vital and stripped-down. I like the tinny drums and the more sampled vox so I suppose it was mainly the verse voices that jarred for me: slightly out of time, obstinately unpretty, clunky... just not pleasant to hear. One bit that lifts it is the higher voices joining on the final line of the chorus; the rest of it I found, again, sounded willfully careless. Three guys in a bedroom laying down deliberately rough vocals sounds promising but there's also the risk that it can just turn out amateurish. Drowning that in fuzz should give it a Marychain vibe, but, I don't know, it just sounded like mediocre vocals disgused with loads of distortion.
Based on that one track, I like the description of your music better than the music itself. Don't take that badly. You seem to want to treat this project really professionally and seriously, so I'm giving you my honest view rather than soft-soaping because you're TMO boys.
On a positive note, I've enjoyed the track more every time I've listened to it. Perhaps on attempt #10 I'll love it? I would like your layered collages and experiment to feed into a richer, smoother, more tuneful sound -- but what do I know, I'm sounding like an advert for instant coffee.

They probably would have done, if the liquid had actually got that far.
Anyway, I don't behave like that any more. Now I'm old and sensible and responsible and probably pretty boring if I'm honest.

When are we going to have Skype Meat then? Couple of boxes of wine, headphones clamped to brain, conference up to five revellers, swap music files. Can you play music to everyone in the conference? There'd be no need to ever go out again. Except to get more wine boxes.
