I've been lurking for a long long* time, and I've made a list of the people from TMO with whom I'd like to have a have a pint.
In no particular order, we have:
dang65 Black Mask Kovacs VP Sabian Darryn Waynster Stefanos Ringo Thorn Davis/Nathan Bleak Dr Benway/Jimmy Bignuts jonesy999 Misc NWoD
The point of this for you is to think back and wonder why I -- a total stranger, who's never posted before -- have chosen these names. Not just what it says about the names, but what it says about me; which is why how at least one lurker views TMO, and how and why your 'antics' (for want of a better phrase; I'd quite like to pull my own eyeballs out with pliers for using that) keep someone lurking for several years.
If this doesn't die on its arse, I will tell you. Maybe.

With the exception of Dang, BM, Stefanos and Kovacs (who you won't see round these parts no more) I have had a pint (or several) with all of the above, sometimes on more than one occasion, and I can vouch that in RL they are as genuinely terrific people.
Of all the TMO posters I have not yet had the pleasure to meet, I think I would like to meet Dang65 actually. Although we have not spoken outside of TMO (ie by MSN or similar) we actually have a bit in common - same line of work, same method of doing it (contracting, and sometimes abroad) and also it seems similar tastes in music. I think we might get on alright over a pint, putting the world to rights and all that.
I would also like to buy Louche a drink as I was particularly not nice to her once which in retrospect, was uncalled for - I made unfair comments about her postings, and I now know that to be wrong. So i'd like to buy her a drink and apologise and hopefully show her I am not an arsehole in real life.
Also Vikram and me could talk about young teenage lesbianism as thanks to him, I am now quite up on the subject (note this is not in relation to porn, but a very wonderful film he sourced for me)
So, any other posters out there, after all this time, you still haven't had the pleasure of?

Well, my name's on the list and vikram's isn't, so... you know... I already like you. But, why have you chosen those particular names..?

Maybe we should each of us try to imagine why we've made the cut?
I've only met a few people from here, at a Northern Meat a couple of years ago, but I too can confirm that TMO posters are as delightful in real life as they are in pretend. Mind you, quite a few of those people proceeded to disappear shortly after. (That was the infamous Sexchairgate, of which we don't speak. Much.) And I'd like to meet a lot more one of these days, in sha Allah.

Dang's ok. Quite tall if I remember. Shifty little eyes though.
I think I'm a bit of a disappointment to most people in real life. I'm just boring and quiet, or get shockingly drunk and gropey. God I suck...

I certainly wouldn't count myself as a prolific TMO poster. Certainly the quality of others input puts mine deeply in the shade, and at not even 3,500 posts after 6 years I'm definately way down the list as far as I'm concerned.

Ok. I think that Nimrod likes a bit of the alternative scene. They might even have a copy of Pearl Jam's 'ten' - They like their puerile jokes, that's for sure. Plenty of filthmonkies in that list.

I don't believe in lurkers. How could anyone read some of the stuff posted on here and be able to resist typing a righteous answer?
Perhaps those on the Elite List though could have a special symbol next to their names.

I've never really thought of myself as particularly funny. Certainly nowhere near as amusing as someone like NWoD for example, who I happen to know is a true comedy legend. I'm confident that the board agrees with me on this. This one time when we were working on some guitar parts in his room, he made me laugh so hard that a little hard bit of poo came out. I quickly kicked it under his bed, made my excuses and went home.
I guess I'm on The List because this not-so-newb enjoys stupid throwaway comments and perhaps vector art. Either that or they use my image hosting service and feel compelled to thank me in some way.

Well, obviously I'm with you there, NWOD. Unfortunately, try as I might, I am struggling to gain a clear view of any nipples in the above photo. I am guessing that missgolightly is the lady on the left, yes?

She is. But you can't really see any nipples. Sorry if I got anyone excited. I just like nipples (thinking/talking about) so much that I couldn't help myself.
