Cheers, youse. I probably shouldn't have mentioned it - I haven't contributed a lot round here for a long while so I could hardly expect it to be popping up on everyone's Outlook.
Also, I checked my Wikipedia entry and someone from the forum has maliciously altered it to say,
quote:"[...]typical of the kind of poster on TMO who would use the forum as a means to self-aggrandise - his particular contribution was to drag down the tone of discussions to a kind of directionless aggression and scorn. Like all the self-proclaimed 'big beasts' of TMO Talk suffered from a paper-thin ego and, like Kovacs and London (now also defunct personas - the 'Kovacs' persona recently failed to make its reserve price on eBay) could dish out alot of criticism without necessarily being able to take it."
Which all sounds fair enough, but I wish the person had had the balls to say it to me her/himself.

Hi ben. Just wanted to pop by to say happy birthday. I know we don't always see eye-to-eye on every issue, but I'm glad that my columns have at least made you think. We live in apathetic times and it pleases me that when someone from the MTV generation like yourself gets wound up enough to think about politics it means I've basically done my job brilliantly. No need to thank me - this will be my gift to you, every year. No... please. Say nothing of it. My gift to you is the gift of thought. Take care, ben. I'll be seeing you.

Thank you for your lovely card. We are both very well thank you, your dad sends his love to. We look forward to seeing you: The guest bedroom is still being fixed up by Fred he says it will be ready soon but he is buried under work right now. Well ben you are grown up now but I still worry about you. Thats what mums do! When will I get to meet my grandchildren? No word from your sister I'm afraid, we remain hopeful she will turn up soon. I found some of your old stories while I was digging around in the basement. Do you want me to send them up. I hope you are still writing, you were always very good at making things up weren't you.
Well I should go I have many things to do as usual. Your dad and me are going out for a drive later and I need to empty the boot. Call before you come down and I hope to see you soon.
Love Mum
PS I found this necklace on the pavement and I thought it might suit D.
