Jesus, seems like we've taken our collective eye off the birthday ball in a big way lately. Today is the birthday of one Anthony M. Files, happy birthday Misc, hope you had a marvellous day (if that's possible when you spent it in in Reading)!
Happy birthday, Mr. Files. I don't know whether or not you remember me, but I felt obliged to pop up again here, donning your favourite cunt cap. It's your birthday after all, so feel free to PM me if any further cunt-related favours can be brandished your way.

Awesome! I just logged on to make sure you hadn't forgotten. Thanks to Rob for starting this thread. If there hadn't been some acknowledgement, I might've gone postal...
Today, I've been mostly playing with my Wii. So far I've managed to make some Miis, get online, and play Wii Sports and Wii Play. Also picked up Eledees but I haven't tried that one yet.
I also got a splendid new watch:
I'm hoping this will be the first year I don't get asked for ID when buying alcohol. So far, so good. This time next year, I'll be thirty. Far too old for video games and Star Wars figures.

I'm actually fattening up at the moment, in preparation for the ende of oils, and the subsequent revolution. As an American, you'll be pleased to hear that I bought a huge pack of Krispy Kreme Donuts [sic, sic, sic] which made me feel like that jolly yellow fellow from popular cartoon series The Simpsons.

Something tells me the yanks don't pay $2.40 each for those sweet little sugary dumplings, though. Rip off britain, etc.

I'm half tempted to start a thread about making up new doughnut flavour ideas for Krispy Kreme, but I wouldn't want lurkers to think that's the sort of thing TMO has threads about, so I'll just stick it in here for now.
Imagine you're the head of Flavor Development at Krispy Kreme. What would be your perfect doughnut flavour?
Pastry Fried:
Coating/Glaze: All over 2mm coating of extremely high cocoa columbian chocolate Topping: Crushed pecans Dough: Brioche Filling: Bonne Maman Berries and Cherries jam

I've never had a Krispy Kreme donut. I don't know where they sell them round these here provincial parts.

Thanks HC.
Krispy Kreme seems to have found its way into Tesco's stores across the country. That's the only reason I go there these days, as I've recently discovered the joys of Waitrose.

My dream doughnut would have a vanilla custard filling, and a fairly simple doughnut dough and light glaze. That might even exist already! I don't know much about the KC range due to the aforementioned fucking-expensive-ness.
Continuing the food theme I remember some time ago someone mentioned that there was an excellent curry house somewhere in Wapping, and idea what it was called? If I must go to Wapping, and I must, then I want a decent feed…

You get them from your local Tesco? Does that mean they're like pre-packaged and not cooked fresh? in MK we have a Krispy Kreme shop where you can buy assorted dozens of whatever ones you like, and they're freshly made. If there's a long queue they give you a free one while you wait, and then a pretty girl with an american accent tells you to have a great day. She might not actually be american, mind, it seems a bit suspicious that they'd actually ship yanks over to work in the stores.
You can be all flirty too. "i'd like a mixed dozen pliz" you will say. "Ok what ones would you like?" "hmm" you will reply "I'm not sure, which ones are good" and then the girl will reply enthusiastically that she likes such and such a donut, with a smile, and you'll look her in the eye and say "Well you made them sound so good, I'll have a dozon of those hen please" and she'll sort of giggle slightly and her eyes light up likeyou've just made her day.
Although the whole time there's this kind of slightly worrying feeling that you're the victim of some kind of devious psychological marketting ploy, and acxtually the girl is thinking "eat whatever the fuck you like, you fat donut-munching piece of crap"
Ah well, whatever. I love those donuts so fuckdamn much.

The shops I know about are - Harrords, Watford Uber Tesco, Bentalls in Kingston and Clapham South's Tesco - where they claim to cook them fresh...

There's a special Krispy Kreme fridge right in front of you as you walk into the shop. According to the signage, its stocks are replenished each morning with freshly made goods. As well as choosing individual doughnuts, you have the option of buying pre-packed selection boxes of twelve.
Sadly, Newbury doesn't have a dedicated Krispy Kreme 'store' with fake Americans, but it does now have a Montezuma's chocolate shop and I hear the town will benefit from something called a 'cinema' in 2008! Exciting times...
