I say yes, with reservations. It has been advertised in some trailers as a comedy, which it isn't, which in turn is a good thing. Jim Carrey manages to avoid being plastic-faced for all but about 2 scenes, which is another good thing.
I can't post more without spoilering. Go see it and come back and talk to me.

If you liked Being John Malkovitch and Adaptation you will like. Don't go and see it if you are a middleaged to old couple who liked Kate Winslett in Titanic and Sense and Sensibility.
Jim Carrey is surprisingly engaging on screen when he isn't gurning and falling over and being manic.

I loved it, I thought it was sad and beautiful and smart and funny.
The combination of Kaufman and Gondry really works in an ok, let's concentrate sort of way.
I have more time than most people for Carrey generally, but this really is his best straight(ish) performance yet. Some nice performances from the supporting cast also, inparticular Mark Ruffalo and Kirsten Dunst.
Go see.

This was a must-see romantic comedy that featured Jim Carey at his zaniest, Kate Winslet at her kookiest and Elijah Wood with funny glasses on!!!! It was the bestest fun.
According to the trailer anyway. The film I saw was a bit different. Must have put the wrong film on by mistake.

I was so excited I ran downstairs to tell Thorn that Dr Benway was back, which was doubly exciting because I'd assumed he was dead.
ETA, I assumed Benway was dead, not Thorn. I don't keep Thorn in a basement and forget to feed him, thus leading to an assumption that he might have passed away while I accidentally stared at Nathan Fillion's nipples to excess.

well, I think that it secures Carey's future as a serious actor, and will allow him to transition away from his trademark comedy schtick (The Mask, Ace Ventura, etc). Personally, I think he will now be recognised as a dynamic actor who can bring pathos to dramatic and sensitive roles as well as leading bit budget comedies. Excited to see what he does next - look out, Phillip Seymour Hoffman!

I'm ambivalent about Kanye not being dead. It's like when you friend a crazy old pal on facebook and find that they're actually doing better than you despite always having made worse choices. Like, yeah I'm happy for you but come on.
