Grant him amnesty. He can live in my flat if he wants. He'll be my funny uncle. I love him so much. Still. Thank Allah he is still with us.

Subject: SECONDMENTS TO IRAQ - VOLUNTEERS BY CLOSE 02 MAY

Importance: High

Dear All,

We have just had a correspondence from the FCO, detailing a Ministerial decision to provide wide ranging support to the Office for Reconstruction and Humanitarian Assistance (ORHA).

They are asking for volunteers to support the ORHA in it's work with the existing Iraqi administration based in Baghdad. They are hoping that these people can be deployed by around 05 May, with secondments lasting between 3 and 6 months.

xxx is co-ordinating this from the Defra side and she would require a CV and short note explaining why the applicant would like to be seconded to OHRA and what skills/experience they would bring.

We should work on the basis that salary costs will continue to be borne by the Department.

I have more details on this if anybody is interested, or think members of their teams might be. Otherwise you will need to respond directly to xxx by Friday 02 May.

Having Mohammed Saeed al-Sahhaf as your funny uncle should swing it. Get that application in right now.

Triple X works for Defra now? He's come down in the world a bit.
