Here . I honestly think Eriksson has completely taken leave of his senses this time, he drops Wright-Phillips, who despite struggling to get past Robben, Duff and an in-form Cole in the Chelsea team, has been one of England's best creative outlets when he's played for them in recent times, and instead includes a kid who has yet to even start a single Permiership game, along with a young winger who's had one decent season but has no experience of top-level international football. Gamble isn't really a strong enough word to describe what he's doing. He also has both Jenas and Hargreaves, 2 utility players hwo have never offered anything beyond a bit of versatility to England. The guy's a joke..

Sounds to me like utility players are just what you need when dealing with WCs. Plenty of experience with plumbing, and janitorial supplies. Who says foreigners can't manage? Good on him, I say.

I'm a little surprised by the omission of both Wright-Phillips and Defoe from the Provisional Squad, and the complete absence of Wright-Phillips and Darren Bent from the list. As for Walcott, it's a gamble that could go either way. I'm not that surprised by other choices. And let's look at the positives, no Heskey or Crap Neville.
