So then, release day. RE4 was, at the time, one of the best games I'd played. Looking back it had its flaws but it's still brilliant enough to make me super excited about the fifth installment. Even if it does look more like an expansion pack than a new game.

I'm going out at lunch time today to get it and when I get home I'm going to shut myself in with the puss3 for the evening.

Yeah actually I've just been reading about how it's a lot shorter than RE4, the inventory system is dumbed down, and it's basically non stop action with no puzzling.

Fucksocks. What else is out at the moment?

Gringo - forgive me if you've mentioned this, but have you played Fallout 3 yet? If not I'd say that it's an ideal candidate for a mammoth evening in gaming experience.

I haven't played it, no. That's out for PC as well, isn't it? I'm more likely to get that for the PC. I've still not played Bioshock actually, so maybe I should just get round to installing that. I've still got loads of Orange Box to get through too.

I've been considering Dawn Of War 2 to fend off the anticipation before Starcraft 2, although to be honest I'm more than a little disappointed with the way Starcraft 2 looks. It's basically the same game as 1, with the same sound effects, same units but 3D. The same with Diablo 3. I guess Blizzard have got WoW covered and can't be bothered with anything else. Typical.

I'm still playing through Fallout 3 with Kellifer. She does the morals (girl stuff), I do the shooting (boy stuff). That's fuckin teamwork.

We did the same with Deus Ex and Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines but we want more games like this. Any suggestions?

The Elder Scrolls games would be the obvious suggestions if you've not played them? Fallout 3 is based on the Oblivion engine after all. Morrowind, the previous one, was an amazing game in a lot of ways, just the combat system wasn't as good as Oblivion and it was a bit buggy.

I'm well and truly hooked on Fallout 3 on the PS3, absolutely amazing game. Loved Vamp TMB as well actually, wish they'd make a game with that license using a Fallout 3 style setup, lot of potential there I'd have thought..
