I wouldn't mind some co-op Ace Combat on Saturday evening. Although you're probably out aren't you? I'm the only one who stays in on a Saturday playing computer games against a pretend man from the internet.

I will be online this weekend. I might be on tonight and tomorrow but will definitely be online Sunday.

Current onlineable games :-

Guitar Hero 2
Guitar Hero 3
Pro Evolution Soccer 2008
Halo 3

Although, I've only played about 45 minutes of Halo and therefore would be pretty useless in a team environment.

I am out tonight, but tomorrow I'll be free to play games all day / night. Louise is doing an ACCA, and that means I get Saturdays free now.

Up for Halo and ace combat. Ace Combat especially, as I've yet to play on co-op.

I don't think gh2 is online...?

I shall add you as a friend though, sg5.

Tilde? Tilde?

Of course you are. What use is an imaginary friend if it can't falsely claim to offer companionship.

I may get Burnout Paradise but am going to have to complete Halo first. I have no idea if GH2 is online to be honest I was just assuming, and you know what happend when you assume. Something along the lines of you aren't always right or something. I'm not entirely sure I've remembered that joke accurately.

I've just checked out the CEX website and for trading in just TWO of my gamecube games I can get a whopping £31. That's amazing. How can they give such ludicrously high exchange prices.

I quite enjoyed Sunday's Halo 3 session, although I get the impression Dr Benway found it an exercise in frustration, with me and my friends proving so inept that it actually harmed Benway's skill rating to be on the same team as us.

Probably my favourite moment was Benway yelling down the mic for us all to stick together, for fuck's sake, finally managing to rally us into the same place at the same time, only for us all to get sniped in the head, one after the other, in less than three seconds.

Benway and I had a cracking game later on last night. It was 4 vs 4 slayer and pretty much as soon as the game started the other two people on our team decided to quit making it a 2 vs 4 game.

We started off poorly and were quickly about 10 points down then realised that teamwork was needed to try to form some sort of comeback.

So, we stuck together, we sniped, we bludgeoned, we dodged, we weaved and more importantly, we believed.

We still lost by 2 points, but we tried damnit, we tried.

Heh, yeah. He does that if you're in the same room too. You think for a minute you're being really helpful but then you'll look at his screen and you can see yourself making doughnuts with the Warthog and trundelling pathetically up a sand dune then getting shot.

Thorn (L) vs Benway (R) - the game nobody wins

I enjoyed myself a lot too! There is something crushing about watching an enemy team act as this well oiled machine - a warthog w/gunner, missile pod support + snipers, carefully moving from territory to territory - and then seeing your own side just jumping up and down on a hilltop shooting each other in the face. But it's all good. Always going to be up for some of that action. I enjoyed the later games with the ever changing teams as well. The screenshot above is of my favourite moment from one of those games.

But SG5 is correct. When we did actually work together, both of our kill counts went up.

Well, none of you bothered to be online last night which is just rude really so i had to play mostly with Americans. But.. I found a fellow Bournemouth fan! (Not american). What's the chances or that? There are only like 9 of us in the world and we're slowly being decapitated. Or that might be highlanders.

yes, I was outside of my house last night, and this evening I believe there will be bitches in the living room, but rather than getting it on, they'll probably be watching a Kylie DVD. But wednesday will be all about being humiliated on xbox live.

I had to stop playing team slayer as it was upsetting me so much. I don't understand how I can pump 9 shots into someone with the battle rifle then hit them from close range yet they don't die. Yet I keep dying from one or two shots from someone behind me (not sniped). It was making me really angry but then I found the game where you are in teams of two, one driving, one shooting from the vehicle just rushing to checkpoints and blowing up the enemy. That was a lot more relaxed.

I guess it's a bit case of "Learn to play" for me, but surely 9 shots and a hit with the gun should kill anyone unless they have a shield but I would say that it didn't work in over 50% of cases. Is it because I'm mostly hitting the chest rather than the head?

If they're getting you in the head with the battle rifle, that'd explain why you go down so fast. Or even two hits from a mauler or a shotgun will take you down. Not sure about 9 shots and a punch being enough. Typically I find myself unloading an entire clip from the AR and following that with a punch is the only way to be sure.

yeah, with the battle rifle, you have to go for the head. With anything really. Shooting at the chest will just end up with you being dead as they return fire into your face.

also, that AR / punch tactic is so common that it seems 75% of the time, you'll also go down as your opponent does the same thing to you. The real killers seem to use headshots from the battle rifle, but you know. That's quite hard.

That's funny because it sounds like I'm going to spunk in their face when I'm actually going to shoot them. It's a sophisticated piece of comedy known as a double entendre. I don't expect you all to master it just yet, but just that you know it exists is enough for now.

Getting up close and shotgunning them in the face is a satisfying instant-kill, as well. Obviously works best on close-quarter levels. Less effective when you have to sprint the length of Valhalla to get close to anyone.

You are missing out. It's like having a TMO meet but without having to go the effort of putting on trousers.

I like how you've hyphenated Xbox there. Like it's X-Men or something.

Anyway, the only tears I'm crying are the tears of sheer literal joy at being able to watch Scary Movie 4 on blu ray in glorious eye-wanking high definition.

Can you watch Scary Movie 4 in high definition on your Xbox? Let me answer that one for you: No you cannot!

Ha, and indeed Ha, at your feeble attempts to defend your puny console against the might of the black monolith of Justice that is the PlayStation 3
