had a couple of biscuits that were alright, but nothing amazing. Highlight was probably the whisky that I bought for my dad.

The multi-bird was a bit of a let-down. Perfectly nice, don't get me wrong, but it cost a packet, apparently. Just not spectacular enough for the outlay. For fifty or sixty quid you could get an enormous piece of amazing beef, a humongoid goose or an armful of exciting little game birds, this thing cost more than twice that and it was just a load of... boringish meat.

Good Whiskey is always a highlight - shared some with the wife's granddad.
Didn't have the usual food fest this year, lots of mexican stuff (Poquito Mas does excellent shrimp burritos, Signor Fish does a great fish taco plate - also went to a place in San Diego that served the freshest fish I've ever had)
My boss, probably on a guilt trip because we got him gifts and he got us nadda, dropped round a basket of stuff, and there's a pack of peanut brittle that only I can eat, so might write back once I've cracked that open.

What was the whisky?
it was this. It's become a tradition that I buy him something that Milroy's have bottled themselves. It was a glenlivet for a few years, but they ran out of that this year. Still, I wholly recommend that glen grant.
