Just wanted to write this post because my boss is standing outside my office and I wanted to sound like I was working. Heading home in 15 minutes and can't be fucked to start anything new. Quite tired today. probably going to see Devildriver tomorrow. Do people still go to live music on here? You don't see much written about it. Anyone else like Devildriver? Much better than Coal Chamber - in fact if I didn't know that the shared a lead singer then I never would have guessed it was the same guy. And - Oh. He's gone now.

I only go to Interloper gigs these days. Everyone else is a bit of a let-down really. Saying that, I was vaguely considering attending All Tomorrow's Parties: Nightmare Before Christmas, 'curated' by My Bloody Valentine and starring such diverse acts as Sonic Youth, De La Soul and the Buzzcocks.

(at, erm, Butlins)

I reckon a gig at Butlins would be quite fun, in an odd kind of way. Ostensibly wholesome, but actually really decadent.

Speaking of bands wot people are in, I've got a 'tryout' for an Oxford band a week tomorrow. which is sort of exciting/ frightening. I've never been in a band with strangers before. Also, if you know anyone selling a gig-worthy bass amp, then I'm in the market for that.

Let me have a word with my mate Clare from Antiproduct - she's offloading loads of stuff at the moment - any idea what you are particularly interested in? I know they used to use a lot of Laney gear which is pretty good. Stuff will be based in London - I'll give her the nod

Tell us about the band then. Are they students?

I was just looking at a load of Laney stuff in the shop down the road. I'm really looking for a bass combo amp suitable for small gigs - so somewhere between 200W and 400W.

I don't know much about them at all, to be honest. They were one of a few responses I got to a Band Wanted ad I placed a week or so ago. Apparently they're replacing a shit bassist. We swapped a few audio files and that was it. There was another band looking for a bassist to play festivals and record over the summer, but that seemed a bit... intense.

There's also the other, nameless band which assembles in my living room every now and again to play cover versions but that's not really a thing.

Excellent - let me know when you're ready to gig in the Oxford area.

The new members of Interloper are about ten years younger than me. They go on about drink, drugs, getting laid and skateboarding, while NWoD and I discuss our full time jobs, pension plans and the rigours of long-term relationships.

I'm so bored, and yet under such pressure at work at the same time. How does that work?

...actually I'm not really bored as such. More like listless.

I'm in exactly the same situation as Sl1ppyslit. just sort of flopping around trying to avoid the big mountain of stuff I need to be getting on with. Actually 'need' is probably a strong word - doubtless most of the stuff will be forgotten about in a few weeks, whether I do it or not.

I was doing a training session earlier and somehow managed to send the message "I'm at home, please call" twice to Bandy.

This message wasn't very useful as

a) I wasn't at home
b) Bandy doesn't have my home number
c) I didn't need him to phone me at all.

It then turned out that Bandy didn't have my mobile number either as he responded with "Who is this?".

I realise I'm disclosing text messages that were meant to be private here, but I feel that the forum has the right to know.

Yeah, I've basically got no chance of being a member of London's new-media elite now.

I'm going to wake up with a server in my bed or something.

You should have turned it into a prank, and replied saying 'Steve Jobs', and waited for Bandy to shit himself inside out with excitement.

Check out this excellent thing you can do with a Clash tape. I guess you could do it with a tape that isn't The Clash, but that wouldn't make much sense.

There is a thread somewhere where Misc talked about the Sims but I can't find it so I'm posting here.

This is brilliant. Some guy has set up a man and his daughter as homeless disturbed people in the Sims 3 and sees how that pans out. Very funny stuff.
