Urban Dead is my current internet fixation. I can't leave it alone.
I strongly urge everyone to register immediately and join in the effrot to rid Malton of the zombie scourge.
I currently have two characters on the go. Hank Bronson is holed up in the Phillis Building in Pennville (80,85), while Oogly Shabubu is re-arming at the Buckley Mall in Wyke Hills (50,98) before heading East to flank the zombie army that's spreading westwards.

Currently with Jack Dore, running around the borough north of williamsville, trying to keep the first aid kits high and the experience points coming to get better at the actual killing of zombies thing.

eta: in Dartside, [37,88] St Patrick's Hospital.
Currently good for little more than healing and barricade building, but getting there slowly
eta: spastic miss-hit of reply to rather than edit, keep doing that, sorry

Oogly Shabubu and Hank Bronson are doing quite well. Oogly's only ever been non-fatally infected once and Hank was killed in a showdown with three zombies but was quickly revivified.
Using the Wiki and browsing the boards helps one's game tremendously.

Jack Dore is coming along, slowly - partly due to about four fatalities, but mainly because I keep going on scouting missions, ending up lost out side and panicing that I don't get killed before I can get indoors again

That is a bitch. Some suburbs are sealed up tight as a drum. I'm moving through the south-east at the moment and things seem open and deserted. My theory is that the (organised) zombie horde is moving in a counter-clockwise direction. I'm trying to follow them and pick off the stragglers.

I was in Pimbank when it fell and that was fucking scary. Also, as a naive newb, I heard there was lots of 'action' at one of the forts, I rushed staright over there and was dead in about seven APs, every turn was, like...
You punch at a zombie and miss
A zombie attacked you for 3 hit points A zombie attacked you for 3 hit points A zombie attacked you for 3 hit points A zombie attacked you for 3 hit points A zombie attacked you for 3 hit points
You are infected
A hard lesson, indeed. I tried running away but they just kept lurching after me.

Start again, Roy. I'd suggest Firefighter as a good character class. As soon as your character is spawned head for a building. The description of the building should tell you if it is barricaded. If it is unbarricaded that's no good to you, as zombies can just walk in and munch on your ass. You can get into any building up to 'very strongly barricaded'. 'Heavily barricaded' or above and your fucked. Once you find a suitably barricaded building click on the 'Enter the ..... building' button. Once you've found a safehouse you can start scouting around for zombies to kill. Try not to stray too far, leave yourself enough APs to get home and indoors safely. If you're stranded on the streets... you're fucked.

I attacked a zombie but kept missing, so I ran back to my garage. There were loads of people in there, but nobody would talk to me. Tomorrow, I might go a bit Shining on them and attack them with my axe.

I managed kill a zombie and then went back to my museum. I hope no-one goes Shining on my ass with an axe while I'm sleeping.

I went as a cop and missed a zombie with a whole clip of bullets then the zombie ate me. It was like: WhTuF!!??! But that was ages ago. And people probably shoot zombie cops called Detective Teevee.

You need to ease yourself into it... Gather your experience points slowly by taking potshots at stray zombies. Don't feel you have to finish them off. Once you've got a few skills (combat and Free Running) under your belt it will all be much more thrilling. The real challenge is that you only get 50APs a day.

It kind of reminds me of those old BBC computer-style games like Rogue and Moria - I used to love those. Are they freeware somewhere these days?
I'm crap at Urban Dead so far. I am running Hawooga Hippy and Treehugger McCoy, neither of which have done nothing of note so far yet exhausted their APs, and both of which I fully expect to be dead come the morning.

Thorn Davis is still alive. Went out, fucked a zombie up with an axe, went back to the museum with a warm glow of accomplishment. Repeat tomorrow.

If zombies took over my city I'd be very disappointed if there weren't flares going off at night. I'd also expect at least a few of them to be wearing suits and maybe still carrying their briefcases.

I think you'll find not... was making sarcasm, Roy. the fact that the graphics are really basic and the game nruns in a browser window, and his 64mb card would obviously be capable of displaying them leads to humour, in not...'s eyes.
