I've got a fucking hellish weekend lined up. The Masketeers are having a sleepover, with six other kids. SIX! Then on Sunday we're picking up a cat from a shelter. A cat with fucked kidneys.

Any names in mind for the cat?

Won't a cat with fucked kidneys be a miserable sod, on account of the constant pain of cystitis? Not to mention a huge drain on the finances. Why not get a non-defective one?

It comes with a dialysis machine.

Get a robot cat, with super-purrs.

Femke just bought Beckett drum kit, can you imagine my joy ?

Little guy can keep time though, hell of a drummer for a three year old.

My cat's kidneys are okay, as far as I know. She does have a clump of fur that gets rather matted beneath her bib though.

Im going to get a cat with fucked kidneys too! Maybe I am Black Mask [Confused]

It's kidneys can be maintained in a functioning state by giving it expensive food.

It will be called Slab-Cat.

Hello TheMoon! I am glad you are back!

A kind of cross between Amelie and Jackass. Like it.

My weekend will be mainly involved with seeing three very old and dear friends, one of whom now lives in Sydney, one in New York and one in Sheffield, who are all in London at the same time. It's going to rule. I may also do some gardening.

you know, as much as I know I should dislike jackass, I always watch it. They're always so happy.

I've been on holiday but because mr sam went away when I came back from visiting relatives, I have been playing on the computer and watching Jeremy Kyle this last two days. So this weekend, instead of having a last wind-down and relax before going back into the pit of squalor and mismanagement called a school, I shall be marking 32 bloody essays on Act 1 Scene 5 of Romeo and Juliet and 13 piss-poor essays on the history of Old and Middle English. I will not get the 27 Media coursework folders I also brought home done. I hate hate hate hate marking. [Frown]

Johnny Knoxville is hot. Not as hot as Ringo, though.

Posted by Jimmy Big Nuts (Member # 895) on :

they all seem a bit weathered and mad these days though. Knoxville especially seems unhinged (assuming it's not an act of course) Compare him now to when he the tazer / pepper spray video.

Steve-O ended up in hospital recently due to teh druggs and a suicide attempt.

I love Johnny K too. He's the main reason the Welsh Jackass, Dirty Sanchez, just doesn't work.

I have to confess getting a teensy bit narked with teachers who moan about having to spend some of their 12 weeks off doing some work. Meaning they only get 10 weeks off. Is this you Sam? Is it?

pontius seems like the most normal and genuine of the bunch.

Oh that hurts!

Don't forget I am also on strike next week so that is an extra day off. [Razz]

I would like more money for it though. [Big Grin]

I've got a pretty rubbish weekend lined up. It's a friend's birthday and I rather stupidly decided I was going to paint her a picture by way of a present, so tonight and probably a chunk of tomorrow will be taken up with that. Then a party on Saturday night but that's going to be fairly boring. Then Sunday, hangover and weather permitting, I might have a crack at repairing my car.

Boring stuff all round.

Knoxville's real name is Philip John Clapp.

I actually enjoyed grading papers when I was a teacher. There must be something wrong with sam if she doesn't.

This weekend it is the froopster baby's third birthday. We have much cleaning and preparing to do and then we have to actually make nice w/froopy-rents, which is not easy. At least the little one is so excited that it is infectious - every other sentence is about her birthday, her princess cake, her candles, etc. It's getting a bit much though as last night she woke up from a nightmare that something happened and she didn't get her birthday. I'm dreading what will happen when it is actually over.

A mate from my school did an exchange with an American teacher the year before this and she loved it in the American school she was in. She said it was the good life. She has been very depressed since returning to the UK school.

Yes, the unions have made it so that you have a lot of personal choice as to whether you will be a good teacher or a lazy piece of shit. They pay is very bad though, and there is no chance for increased pay based on merit, which is one of the reasons I am no longer a teacher (though obviously money isn't my only concern for a career or else I'd still be a lawyer).

I don't think any system gets education right, do they? It's the price of it being a public funded and organised service, perhaps.

How many do you have coming for your daughter's party? I love their excitement at that age.

Posted by rooster (Member # 738) on :

I suppose not, but I still think I got an excellent education.

We are having around 15 people, but only three of those are children, and none her age.

Homeschoolers. [Cool]

I think I approve of that sort of birthday party.

Posted by froopyscot (Member # 178) on :

If you homeschool your kids, do you send them to town for detention?

Posted by ralph (Member # 773) on :

No.

Posted by froopyscot (Member # 178) on :

Sigh. Homeschooling can adversely effect your sense of humor. 100% facked! I saw it on a government warning sticker once.

Posted by ralph (Member # 773) on :

I got the joke. It just wasn't funny.

Posted by sam (Member # 884) on :

It was.

Yeah, like you know what's funny. [Roll Eyes]

You're funny.
