I was at a museum in London yesterday, a small natural history type museum. They were running a Halloween event where they put up extra bits of information of how the animals related to old superstitions.

One particular note by a exhibit could have possibly been better phrased.

"During the middle ages the cock was an important Christian symbol of resurrection and vigilance hence it's appearance on church spires and the tops of buildings"

[I'm hoping that gets through the word filters]

I now have a mental image of big phallic symbols in place of the cross in churches.

Any other amusing phrasing of (presumably) completely innocent sentences?

Rather than stood at the pulpit telling others how to live?

That's really very good.

Aye, that is good. Especially as I've got my very own nemesis at the moment and she is a Christian, and the moderator for a support site. She doesn't like the fact that I've asked a few questions about religion.

Funny, I don't think she'd have minded if I'd asked, "Why does God let us suffer?". But I didn't, I asked more Richard Dawkins' type stuff. She right let off at me for that one.

Funny thing is, the other forumites on that forum have taken my side of it.
