Couple of scans of images from my car's Japanese handbook. There are loads of pictures like these but unfortunately the handbook is water damaged so most aren't worth scanning. I'm going to see if I can get a better condition one from someone on the Owners' Club. I've also got a map of what I think is Tokyo and some kind of train timetable.

Very nice. This little chap is from the 1978 user manual of one of my synths, the legendary Korg MS-20:
That's rock'n'roll for you.

What does voltage control do?
Posted by Thorn Davis (Member # 65) on :
Probably controls something. Can't think what.
Posted by jnhoj (Member # 286) on :
I mean, in terms of the noise the synth is making.
Wouldn't it just ....turn up the volume?

Voltage controls pitch in analogue synths. The first building block of the sound is the voltage-controlled oscillator, or VCO. This produces a sine wave, sawtooth wave, pulse wave, etc., and different voltage signals (sent from the keyboard) alter the pitch of the oscillator accordingly.

See Thorn, you stupid, smart **** .
While yuo're here though, did vogon ever cure cancer?

Actually, voltage controls everything, the amplifier, the filter, the LFO, the lot.

Ringo/Mart... Love those cartoon images. They always remind me of the manual given to Tiger I tank crews, the Tigerfibel...
