Easy one for a Wednesday morning.

I was emailing a friend the other day and saying that I’d lost my mojo, for whatever reason. I then went looking on Google for an image of what I thought my mojo/psyche/unconscious would look like, and it totally looks like this:

 -

Devious, scheming, and ever so slightly witchy.

Now go and find an image of what you think your psyche would look like. Or do someone else if that would be more fun. x

Strange that we're mainly plumping for monkeys - or maybe it makes sense. But my psyche feels like this.

 -

Sometimes, anyway. Other times, it's the same but lying rotting in the ground.

Yeah, but literally none of those things in that picture are true. It's like the worse cuss in the world "Aha - look it's Thorn going 'My girlfriend's dumped me and I failed my exams' ahaha!" I mean I'm sure there are plenty of things you could mock me for that are things that have actually happened. You know what this reminds me of - that time when Kovacs pulled up a load of nonsense you'd posted on Handbag, as Windy Miller and you replied, "Ah well - I'd do the same, except I can't find anything". Kovacs remarked that it said alot about you that your first instinct was to go trawling for dirt on others, and you replied "I just wanted to show two could play at that game". Except, obviously not because you failed then - as now - to find a suitable retort.

Whether the things in the picture are true or not is not something we should bother with. This was clearly what was running through your head when you posted the first image, no?

Would make a nice tag for your "history" website.

Seriously- you do seem to operate on a timescale that's a minimum of 8 months out of date ie still making kovacs-as-kiddy-fiddler "jokes", still thinking Thorn's a journalist whining about his life, using memes that died out ages ago. Did the phrase "a bit slow" feature heavily on your school reports?

Indeed.

I found that thread rather funny, particularly the off the cuff remarks from Black Mask.

I would have had sympathy for Kovacs following his being beaten up - but his propensity for serving up dish after dish of well-constructed lies didn't really help his case. His choice of friends is rather suspect as well - first Rillion, with whom he was involved in a most unsavoury incident including a number of Handbag posters - and now Roy. I could say with some justification that he has brought it upon himself; a case of he who sows the seeds will reap the whirlwind.

I am genuinely surprised by the Ben-Fish incident though. Fish's story sounded convincing, but there there's a big part of me that thinks that Ben - even if he has maintained a five-year grudge and once posted his fantasies about my being mutilated - could not be capable of such an act of violence. That said I too have flipped when someone made a inappropriate smart-alec comment years ago about my then girlfriend. Let's just say that I dealt with the situation without having to either stamp on his head or break his cheekbone. What's for certain is if Ben did indeed go mentalist there was probably a lot more to it that what we can find on here. I think the guy can take a joke; I am not sure about his being able to endure continuous goading. The truth probably lies somewhere in between. That is of course if everyone isn't in on it having one big belly laugh at everyone else's expense.

My main problem with all of this shit is that so many well-constructed lies have been transmitted through these boards over so many years that people cannot now tell what is and what is not the truth. What's for certain is that I can now spot the genuine folks around here very easily, more so than I could do previously - which is a good thing.

Kovacs and Infinite Jones. Jones and Belita. Kovacs and Rillion. Kovacs and Roy. Ben and Fish. Thorn and AIDS. How much is true? How much is false?

It's worthy of being turned into a soap.

It means you are not important enough, have not contributed enough (or for long enough) to warrent an actual response from Rick J (Sir Samuel Norton to you, newbie).

The sad thing is, Snorton will read the above with peacock pride, nodding his head in agreement: "Thank the lord someone understands how things work around here."

Posted by Louche (Member # 450) on :

Is it just me or does Snortona actually appear to be getting slightly more unhinged with every visit? I mean he always had a tendency to dash things out without proofing or actually particularly caring whether his sentences had structure but yesterday he appeared to arrive, sludge a load of totall incomprehensible crap on a few available threads, go hah! tis me and I am, indeed right! then disappear again.

Birds of Prey are cool. Anyone remember the children's drama about the peregrine falcon on kids educational programme Look and Read? Skyhunter I think it was called. No? Of course not, you old cnut.

At least, thanks to Thorn's pinpoint deconstruction and destruction of my online 'moves' yesterday, the forum will be spared the wearily formulaic repetition of a scene from Kes in which a lost and beaten Benway discovers a whole new side to his character when he befriends an untamed Happy Monday's dancer whom he feeds with a bag of pills on a string.

One of the most poignant things I've ever seen on the internet was an image on Rick/Snorton's "Behold: I, the Fiery Phoenix!" website. It was a picture of him as a first-year at the Forces-oriented private school he used to attend: in it, he was this tiny little lad, almost lost in his own anorak, blinking at the world from behind thick spectacles and carrying the sort of aluminium briefcase you just know is going to end up being thrown onto the Chemistry Block roof by the bigger boys.

It was a desperately sad image and anyone who's read Atomised would find it inevitably brought to mind the pathetic sequence where Bruno recalls his days as 'omega male' at boarding school.

from the quantock school website:

Sunday lunch was poor in comparison, alternating between lamb burgers and processed "Bernard Matthews style" rolled turkey. During the mid 1980s, the alternative of peanuts and raisins was also offered; while some may flippantly say that this might have been a cost-cutting exercise, it is more likely due to the fact that the mid-1980s was to see the growth of the vegetarian movement. Many people went along with the fad for the first week, but after a week of nuts and raisins most people actually realised that processed turkey was perhaps not so bad after all.[/b]

lol! poor vegetarians.

Perhaps one of the most memorable aspects of mealtimes at Quantock though was not the food, but the wonderful queueing system that was employed.
Indeed!

Has TMO been having a bit of a spazz out? Only I couldn't connect for a good while there, and since I can't see any posts from that period I'm guessing I wasn't alone?

That appears to be the case. A bit of a spazz out. Perhaps Darryn can give us a more technical term.

The more I look at Sophie Ellis-Bexter, the more I am convinced she is a pod person.

Server attack, for some reason someone attacked our server and services have been crashing all day, FTP goes out then Mysql then Pop and just as you restart one service another goes out.

The whole server had to be taken offline and checked over, I'm told it's all OK now.

The correct technical term for what happened is 'Spazz up'.

Normal service should be resumed.

Tonight while in Canary Wharf I took a picture which I believe most accurately puts a face on my psyche. It also happens to be one of the most depressing images I think I have ever seen. But I don't think that my psyche is depressed / depressing. If that's not too confusing.

Look (ignore the tagline, just concentrate on the image):

Now to start with, could they be more cruel to this dog if they were putting shampoo in its eyes and making it wear lipstick?

How sensitive is a dogs sense of smell? Very, right? Well they put this bone, this biscuit which due to a billion additives the dog goes totally crazy for. All he can do is smell this most delicious thing - 'bis-kit' - is the sound that he has heard when he's smelt it before.

So he can smell 'biskit' but he can't see where the fuck it is because of this stupid thing someone has put in front of his eyes. God its so frustrating. All he wants is the 'biskit'. The smell is making him insane. He's going to bite someone in a minute. Grrrrrr. Biskit. Biskit. iwantit. whereisit??

lol, nice. I feel okay. Had one or two beers last night, but I've quite enjoying my hangover. A bit headachey, but it's slowed me down and added a retro style lens flare to my sight. I'm all about blue sky mornings. Nothing's ever bad on a blue sky morning.

You should probably explain why you posted up cross dressing boys Mask, I think you've confused people.

Don't blame Mask. There was a rebel group in Liberia, followers of a militia leader who called himself 'General Butt Naked', whose uniform consisted of an AK-47 and womens wigs.

I kid you not.

Erm, just testing something. Nothing to see here. Depending of course on whether what I'm trying to make work actually does, or not.

eta: nevermind, didn't work after all. probably due to the 'no images in signature' ubb restriction. Just the same, what I was trying to do was to insert this
 - down there. And apparently the teemo donkey had different ideas about where I should stick it. Or something.

eta2: The attempt, if it wasn't clear, was to insert a rotating automatically generated slogan as a signature. Which probably will get me banished to Handbag for the mere thought. Ah well.

But at least I was considerate enough to constrain my experimentation to a single post.

... oh.
