See this I thought that I had a tough time on sites like urban75, seethru, liv4now and handbag but that was nothing compared to the abuse I have got on some dating site forums. And all for being homeless. [Frown]

I can remember the advice i was given on community websites way back in 2001: "most of the women on this site are spoken for, if you want someone to go out with try a dating site or a chatroom [Smile] ".

The guys there seem a right bunch of spineless saps, all pitching for the same nice-guy persona exactly like most of the guys that post on handbag. They're all blandly supportive, po-faced and gentlemanly in that creepy "I'm completely desperate to get into that girl's knickers way". Pathetic.

The reason that most of those women are single is because they refer to feminism and/or opinions as "girl power". IDIOTS.

It's just disgusting. And the fact that they do it in public and say it to everyone is just like... it's like being in a club and going along a line of girls - all out together - and complimenting them each in turn and offering to buy each one a drink.

Obviously the best technique would be to wade in and start laying in to people, but flirt on PM so everyone thinks they're the only people you're ever nice to. I mean - I feel embarrassed having to spell that out. But fawning over average or ugly people in public... when was that ever a solution to anything?

Unfortunately for you, Thorn, I am never going to forget that you told Jessicaxxx on Handbag "there should be more smiles like yours in the world [Smile] " or something equally greetingscard.

This was during our first day-trip to Handbag. Don't try to diss me back because I also remember my chat-up line to the same girl was "if we shared an office I'd be trying to stand behind you so I could look down the back of your trouser waistband."

I don't remember saying that, but you could well be right. I'm not saying I haven't slipped up in the past, and I think it's relevant that that was an early attempt to take handbag. When I went back a year later, they were all over me like an STD rash.

Also, before we get into the nineseven, er, debacle let's remember that my comments here are just about impressing chicks on a website. Obviously in the flesh my technique is just as clumsily disastrous as it's been since I was thirteen.

Just had a very brief look at her "Flirtblog". 'Danni82' is an I.T Recruitment Consultant by trade - which is obvious upon reading her entry for 5th March 2007:

March 5, 2007 on 8:49 pm.

Well today was rather fun :s

Caught my normal trian to work, it was on time which was great. the only downside was it was crammed to the rafters. so there is me stood sandwhiched between these 2 huge guys. i could bearly breath there was so little room. to rub salt in the wound they decided to stop the train for 20 mins because there was a problem with the door lock mechanisim. aghhhh. Well at least i was only 15 mins late for work.

Was really busy with work today, for the last couple of days i have been sourcing candidates. So was nice to get on the phone to clients trying to source jobs.

anyway i could tlak forever so ill shut up now.

Doesn't it seem a bit odd that she's got all dressed up for a night out and yet has had to take her own photo to put on a dating site? Did she actually just dress up at home and take her picture to give the illusion of a social life?

Speaking of impressing chicks, I had an awful moment this morning, cycling into work. Turning down the lane towards the office I noticed a young spanish woman who works for us. Cycling up behind her I rang my bell, getting her to turn around, waved at her, and then cycled away. I mean... fucking hell that must have looked so fucking cool, me in my big, bright white cycle helmet, blue anorak, trousers tucked into those flourescent ankle holders, dinging my fucking bicycle bell and waving at her like a village policeman from the 1950s. I mean, what gets a chick wetter than that? I swear to God. I'm really a cool person, I'm just trapped in a nerd's body. And mind.

That site Harley linked to was a bit of a revelation for me. It's just horrible. It seems to combine the worst traits of message board interaction; crude (maybe I'm hopelessly naive, but I was quite shocked by seemingly serious threads entitled "looking for no strings attached sex in Edinburgh"), full of whiney cliches (the endless "why are all men only looking for a shag" from the girls and the "why don't women like men who are too nice" from the boys), and a general air of needy grabbiness underlying any attempts at neutral, chatty conversation. Just nasty. I genuinely had no idea such things existed.

It was just surreal...

Coming from Small Town USA©, hookers are the dregs of society and only do it to fund their crack habit.

So, when I was contacted by this girl here and told she wanted an escort site, I didn't want much part of it so I came up with an absurdly high cost thinking she'd say no. She didn't so, being a bottom feeding, opportunist I am, I took it.

I met her in meatspace and she was pretty enough but no way would I spend £250 an hour, but I suppose that's subjective.

Anyway, she hands me a list of about 40 websites she wants to be 'promoted' on and another list of around 15 mobiles numbers and tells me if I need to call her, rotate through those numbers, I'll eventually get a hold of her! Then she started asking me about SEO and Google Adwords (FFS!) and shit... By the end of the conversation, I completely forgot that the fact that if I put a few £20 notes on the table, she'd blow me... It was weird!

Still suffering from my small town delusions though, I was surprised to call her and hear her kid in the background. Anyway, to cut a long post short, it turns out she 'earns' enough to pay for a mortgage in Bedfordshire, puts her kid through private school (or public school, that shit still confuses me even after 7 years here). So, I gradually had my conceptions of what it meant to be a 'hooker' around to a more liberal attitude.

Then she called me and told me she didn't think her pictures were good enough and told me to go to some Aussie site and nick pictures of girls from there cuz "they look like me" which they patented didn't, but being dutiful, I did.

This is just the 'background' stuff that made me all weird... The sites I had to go to 'promote' were well dodgy, but... Hey. Who am I to pass judgement? Though, since she started to promote pictures that weren't her, I haven't heard from her at all in over 2 years... No number works, her mail is returned unopened, and no communication at all... :suspicious slanty eye smilie:

They are having a meet soon on Flirtbox on Saturday the 7th of April. Click here to see. But to get the details of the meet you have got to join their site, which is free to join. Why not someone from here join then post the details on here. I must point out that I was banned from there for posting a link to Lycos chat a few days ago. I should have read their rules, - do not advertise other websites. See this.

Anyway as usual they will be going to a pub in central London. Lets have a TMO meet in the same place. [Wink]

Posted by wonderstarr (Member # 1158) on :

Well, you know I don't want to be called kovacs but as we seem to be getting along OK, Vikram...

I've only watched one episode, on YouTube - the second, I think, with the anorexic girl, and the teacher in the shower. I thought it was fine, but inevitably it isn't really going to say much to me about my life at the moment... I don't think it's aimed at me, really. You know, the acting and writing was all entirely competent, and it didn't seem embarassingly try-hard on one hand or offensively crude on the other, but I don't think I've woken up not knowing whose sofa I'm on and who's lying next to me since the 1990s. It is apparently genuinely popular with teens and early 20somethings, so it's doing what it was meant to.

I think that may have been honest of you to say so, but apparent from the beginning, harlequin. It's this sort of behaviour that people find unnacceptable and more than likely this type of behaviour that had you excluded from meets. It's deceptive and in case it hasn't been apparent, I'm sure you know that society already shuns the homeless and jobless. I don't really believe in 'punching above your weight' but if you aren't going to pursue someone who even lives the same lifestyle as you, you should consider you are being pretty unrealistic. If you go after women who consider a job, a house and a little more reservation in their behaviour as a mandatory requirement, then you are looking for a lifetime of disappointment, I'm sorry to say. essentially, it can be construed as harrassment. Why don't you at least start to socialise with women who live in squats first?

I'm not going to edit this now. You may as well put what you had to say back up. I'm sure it's what a lot of people know already and subterfuge is only going to get you shunned further.

not particularly wanting to perpetrate a pile-on against you here, harley, but it seems to be evident that you find it difficult to properly understand and assimilate peoples' reactions to you. you seem to think that where someone has expressed a dislike for you or a preference to avoid your company, that this is something that can be negotiated - that as long as you can get the outcome that you planned, that the end justifies the means.

you said that you wanted to find out the location of the flirtbox meet, so that you could attend, even though that forum's members had banned you and withheld the details from you. a rational person who understands social interaction would conclude that it would be extremely unlikely that your presence would therefore be welcomed, and that you would achieve some sort of sexual liaison as a result.

i'm not intending to be cruel or offensive to you here, but i sincerely believe that you have some sort of mild autism, the sort that means that you lacks empathy with others and cannot understand non-verbal communication very well. i don't know if you've ever been diagnosed with, or treated for, anything like that, but i think it might explain your behaviour somewhat.

Well I was hoping that some people from her would go to that forum and explain to the people there that I am OK becuase they have met me at several TMO meets and that my presence at their meet would not cause any disruption. They could say how the people here felt the same about me a few years ago but after meeting me in person found out that I was an OK guy who was easy to get on with.

By the way Darryn can you please remove that "sponsered by Rophynol" comment from below my name as the people on Flirtbox think I put it there myself and it is fueling their prejudice against me.

You can add necrophilia to his list of crimes. You should see what he plans for his girlfriend. He's going to be the first TMOer to have a song written after him by a Norwegian death metal band.

By the way maybe rattrap is an old poster of several sites called FatMike he used to be really nasty to people and posted on many forums such as Urban75, and Thesite. He is from Devon and is a heavy rocker. We know that because he used to say on boards things like "heavy metal is real music that dance music sucks". That was back in 2001.

That's fair enough, but to be so rude to the one person who can help - and who didn't actually post up the picture is perhaps not the best way to get a friendly response. If he'd read the threads carefully, he'd have read where the 'admin' as you call him had explained he'd be approachable with a bit of civility. He also explained he had flu so is probably in bed being poorly anyway.

Do you always answer for each other?

lol no sam we dont always answer for each other. i only responded because i know how upset pol is. I know Darryn is unwell hense why i have not botherd him. i also as an admin on 3 different sites am awares of how annoying it can be when faced with kind of thing. I was not trying to be agressive, i was just saying it may explain why cheify was being blunt. He is not usually like that, infact is one of the sweetest guys on the boards which one day i hope you guys will find out.

Sam i did not join here as a collected "we" as i said in the introduce yourself thread, i joined here after lurking for a while and thought " hey they dont seem that bad" and joined this site for genuine reasons however if the regular posters here dont wish for us to be here i will happily go away with nothing else said.

I dont want any hassle, what is done is done and i certainly can not be bothered with so called board wars its ridiculas.

On another note hello sam [Smile]

If she's upset I emapathise totally, however, as she herself it would seem entered her own picture into the public domain I can do little if anyone chooses to 'photoshop' it..

I'm giving a clean slate to everyone, as I have no place to pass judgment of previous behavior or circumstance.

It's up to you.

The internet is a bad place to fight, especially when it spreads over many forums and websites. It becomes too hard to work out who the good guys and the bad guys are..

You're not portraying yourself in the best light at the moment, and whilst I fully understand why that may be I can't condone that sort of behavior as it 'seems' like your just being aggressive and 'spoiling for a fight' whereas, and I don't mean to cause offence, the other protagonist in this little charade comes over like a petulant teenager - all mouth and trousers as my old dad would say.

Just rise above it.

Now, as I sad, clean slates all round, can this be left to lie now please ?

I remember a few years ago when some posters from Handbag.com came on here, there was no piss taking of them. I don't think they would have stood for having their photos made fun of either.

Harlequin, I'm still not convinced you exist outside of the sense of humour of some nebulous poster but, if you do, you pointless, needy, obtuse, drooling neanderthal, THINK! Think before you post. Think before you link. Think about what you post. Think about the effect your posts will have on others... I know this may sound rich coming from me, but if I piss someone off or creep someone out I'VE DONE IT ON PURPOSE!

If you must bring your punch-ups over here, if you must carry the whiff of despair about with you, if you must leave everyone who reads your posts open-mouthed at your utter fucking stupidity, at least try not to let tiny pellets of shit roll out of your trouser legs onto the Welcome mat. I may not have your history with him, but a coincidentally clever 'slip' like this makes me wonder if he's for real. Wouldn't it be funny if he was doing a thesis or something on alternate personnas?

You guys reckon he's been like this for years so maybe that's unlikely. If he is real, he seems crafty somehow, as if he still knows enough to find you funny.

Sorry to say it wasn't mine either Sabian. This leads to the possibility that you just randomly assaulted someone in the pub...

Fantastic! It's alright though... They probably pasted it off as some weirdo Yank tradition... You know, the one right before they shoot you or something.

We did no such thing. If anyone is curious ask Doc D who put that picture up, and take his word for it.

The very thought of that type of activity makes me cringe. I will not support any establishment that encourages that kind of behaviour. Unfortunately these days it is difficult to tell unless people come out of the closet and go public.

It does seem that this sort of thing goes on in many walks of life, including amongst others, government ministers and high court judges.

It will be interesting to see if the recent publicity has an adverse or a positive affect on the trade at the Brickies. There may be alot more gay people in Newbury than we realise.

It's about time this sort of nonsense was challenged. I think you'll find that figures quoting high levels of deviancy are usually obtained from responses to the question "Have you ever had a hom05exual experience in your life?", which is not at all the same as "Do you lead a hom05exual lifestyle?", figures for which vary between 0-2% of the population.

I remember when the Newbury By Pass protest was on back in 1996. There were hundreds of people going up to Newbury all the time back then to protest in the woods just outside the town.

One of Newburys' several anti-road camps back in 1996.

And the Greenham Common protest happened a couple of miles in the other direction. Strictly ladies only at those 'meets' though!

It was a shame it was a womens only camp. Apparantly I heard it was decided to make it women only after there were two rapes at Molesworth Peace camp. As I remember these camps were set up around 1980/81 when news about Cruise Missiles coming to Britain appeared.

Yes, originally intended to stop even dabbling homos from coming in to the town, the Newbury Bi Pass has obviously turned out to be a complete failure.
