So, season two of True Blood started a couple of weeks ago on this side of the pond. Has it begun over there? Anyone watching it? What do you think?

Poster fist:

Thought the first episode was just ok...except for maybe the scene with Eric devouring the redneck. Second episode was excellent...I'm glad Alexander Skarsgard is getting more face time...he's just sooo pretty. Sigh.

Anyway, anyone else obsessed with the show, or better yet, the books?

Amy, I bought the last book right after this season started and finished it in a day. I then promptly sold all nine. I couldn't get them out of my house fast enough - the final book was awful, just totally trite and I felt my IQ dropping as it progressed.

The show on the other hand gets better and better! The only strange thing is that because it has deviated so much from the books it has created this weird alternate universe and I get confused as to whether I should know what's going to happen, which is a bit frustrating.

Wish you were closer so we could have viewing parties...

Hiya Rooster!

I wasn't thrilled with book nine either...but I also read them because they're light and fun. Its like a romance novel, just darker, you know?

Wish we lived closer too, viewing parties would be fun! I actually might be having people over in a couple of Sundays just for that purpose.

I feel you on the whole deviation from the books, it makes it a bit confusing in my head. Which is why I'm thinking about re-reading book 2. You know who Maryann is from the book? I don't want to say, if you don't. Looking forward to seeing Eric in pink spandex, hopefully Allen Ball sticks that in from the book! [Wink]

oh yes, I know who she is. And that party scene would be a hoot to see done HBO-style.

I'm glad the premium channel series are all coming back - I've been watching "Weeds" and am looking forward to the return of "Dexter."

I'd not heard of Triublood until I saw a trailer for it on a UK based website - blimey its a bit Raunchy isn't it.

Still for Amy's recommendation I am looking into purloining the first series to see how I get on with it. And it has nothing to do with the long lonely night shifts I will still be doing

No seriously, looks like it could be a winner

Have you seen any of the episodes yet, Waynster?

Yes Ames, saw the first one, and will carry on a bit once my house is back to being 'mine' (long story, but just a few hours to go now). It's looks pretty good, and Anna Pacquin with a Louisiana accent = v.sexy. The vamp feller is a bit eerie though - do women really go for chaps like that?

I think Vampire Bill is gross and boring, but Eric on the other hand...

I originally thought Vampire Bill was hot, but quickly (very quickly) changed my tune, especially once I saw (and read about) Eric Northman...now he's what id call delicious!
