RROD is like a right of passage for any 360 owner. It's like you don't really feel like a proper xbox gamer until you get your first RROD. Now I come to think of it - you could make a comparison between RROD and getting your brown wings badge.

Everyone in London seems to have an iPhone. Everyone. Even I have an old one without a SIM in it, which I keep by my bed to check my email each morning, to know whether I need to get up and do some work or can go back to sleep.

No no, it's ok, everyone's a bit worried the first time, you just need to get into it a bit, you know, play around for a while, let things get a bit heated, before you know it you'll have your first RROD... Then, the next time it happens, you'll know it's not such a big deal as you made it out to be in your head.

Got a black one with Alan Wake and Forza 3 in the end.
Wake is knowingly cheesy. The environment graphics are amazing (particularly the lighting of course) but the characters' faces and the lip-synching are terrible. I reckon 2003's Mafia had more realistic facial animation. The plot so far seems to be an amalgamation of Steven King novels with some Twin Peaks and X-Files thrown in. The game name checks King at the beginning, and mentions The Shining when an adversary takes an axe to the door. Good atmosphere, but very repetetive gameplay so far. I'm hoping the later chapters add a bit more variety.
Forza's pretty great though. I'm picking up new cars left right and centre - currently using a Lotus Elise. I've been offered an xbox 360 wheel for £20. Anyone used one?

Yeah, but you might as well get Halo 3 now, because it's pretty much the only game that everyone else has got, and it's probably cheap. Reach BETA is excellent, but when's the game actually out? - Autumn... Get Halo 3 now, or even a copy of Halo ODST instead (actually ODST is only £14.99 anyway and comes with the Halo 3 multiplayer and full maps plus you get to play the Halo Reach Beta too.)

You need to get a Halo game so that you can play online with us. It's a great evening where we lost by a few points and would win easily if anyone else was nearly as good as Tilde and Ringo sits there going "Nah man, I've gone out and bought the game so that we can play online, but I'm busy playing Mass Effect instead"

to be fair to Ringo, last time I played Halo 3 with him it was a all against all match, with Me and Triforce, Mikee dropped out unexplainedly before the match.
Ringo was playing his first game and he was really struggling with the controls. At one point I stood directly in front of him and just danced around while he unloaded at me, failing to knock down my shields. After about three rounds or ammo, I think I lobbed a sticky at him to put him out of his misery.
(after that we played Halo HAHAHA)
I felt his pain, as I too was once a Noob, but still Benway egged me on though my earpiece. Telling me Ringo deserved total humiliation for what he did to him in Forza.
