yeah I know but I reckon it wouldn't be too hard to replicate the font on this car.

Using the shapes in Forza.

Also what's up with the bonnet on the real car, is it made of plastic or something?

Yeah I think at some point I'm going to completely redo the lettering. You're right that you can probably recreate the font more accurately, though it's a particularly stupid font. The standard font, even if you do resize and rotate it to be similar to the original, really doesn't look all that much like the one on the real car.

The real car has a fibre glass bonnet, and carbon fibre front wings.

It's a shame you can't create the graphics online somewhere and then import them onto your car on the xbox.

I've seen a vid where a guy has printed a design onto some tracing paper and then sticks that onto his tv screen to recreate it on the forza graphics creator.

it's all a bit too much like hard work for me though.

Like the desert camo one, particularly the little details. Not sure what you were trying to do with the other one there?

that's just supposed to be like a rusted shell of a car in a field.

mnn, it doesn't look that rusty though, just like a kind of bronze paintjob which you smashed up a bit.

I did see a nice rust and primer effect though, check it, it's not one of mine.

I remember that one. It's good.

I dreamed about cars last night. I dreamed I bought a classic muscle car but as soon as went to change it out of neutral the gear stick just came off in my hand and the gears themselves all fell off the bottom of the car.

that's probably my subconscious trying to warn me of the dangers of attempting to 'moving forwards' with my life. Or perhaps it's about the perils of masturbation. Who knows / cares.

More likely you've picked up on some of the anti-american car comments from Jeremy Clarkson.

he likes american cars though. He likes muscle cars, and likes Ford so much that he bought a frigging GT.

There are no matt textures available in the Forza vinyl editor unfortunately

Wouldn't sticking a dark vinyl area over the front of the car look a bit more realistic

somebody on the marketplace must have made a CF texture you can download and use.

The bonnet in the picture just looks that way because of the light. The car itself is a matt black which you just can't replicate on Forza. I'm trying to think how best to rereate the CF wings. I think I may do them in the same colour as the rest of the car but metallic texture, then overlay some kind of fine grid vinyl one shade darker. It'll take a while to get right.

Yeah, there's definately Carbon Fibre Tutorials out there, cause I had a go at making some. Wasn't that great though.

I did my own CF weave pattern a few days ago, trying to recreate all the individual squares in different metallic shades. Looked great. but on each are of the car you can only have 1000 vinyl shapes, and each square of the carbon texture was taking up one of these. A patch the size of your hand used up all the possible spaces. So I'll have to find a more efficient way of doing it.

Looked perfect though, has to be said.

Custom liveries are so much easier on PC...

It's rare that you can say that about any aspect of gaming.

Yeah they're usually just high res bitmaps or similar which are wrapped around the car shape. I did a few in Live for Speed. Very easy to do - you can do them in MS paint.

It would look great if you had MSPaintSkills like NWoD has.

However, you can also use Photoshop or whatever image editing software you prefer, Gimp.

Yeah, that's true, but like the review itself basically says they addressed the issues with the slightly dull gameplay. I suppose if you only bothered reading the scores then it would appear that they judged them both to be the same. I suppose that's one of the limitations of condensing your entire opinion of a game down and expressing it as a single digit number between 1 and 10.

I mean, they obviously found something really special about the first one too. It's not just that the scores are the same, but it's hard to judge whether the changes are that remarkable. If you said "No, Thorn, I'm not going to buy the new Strapping Young Lad album I thought the last one was overserious and unlistenable" I might chirrup up and down going "No way man, this one is way different - it's more playful and melodic," but when you listened to it, it would still be something you hated, just slightly different. I'd be more interested to see what someone who really disliked the first one made of the new game.

Well I still think it's a lot more positive than a review which sort of says "assassin's creed 2 is a nice looking game but still suffers from the same problems as the original". I get what your'e saying, but they do say that Ubisoft have addressed the specific criticisms that you and Benway made about its gameplay.

Anyway, in other news, this looks excellent.

Picked up Dragon Age: Origins yesterday and started up an elven mage on hard mode.

I have realised that these days I don't really like games that are hard. I just like sitting through the story and gameplay without actually being challenged too much. I used to really like the challenge of hard battles that you had to try again and again to get through, but this one after two failures to clear a cave of fucking spiders I gave up for the night and am considering knocking the difficulty down to normal level.

Well. Actually in some games I do like a challenge. I still enjoy the occasional bullet hell game, but in RPGs I only really like to be challenged on boss fights and just like to enjoy the story.

Although that said, Blue Dragon went too far the other way and it was actually impossible to lose any fights ever.

I know, I'm just kidding with you. I've been stuck as fuck on the spec ops of Modern Warfare 2 for a few days now. There are 26 missions, and the two of use has finished the first 10 together. After that they get soooooo hard (on veteran) that they almost seem impossible. But finishing one of them is going to feel good.
