There are things worth killing for but getting off with a person for a bet is not one of them.
Granted, it's a pretty low thing to do but can you really all look down on him (fictional or otherwise)? Are you all so high and mighty or just in a pit thats not quite as deep as Vikram's?
D'oh! I forgot, this is TMO. Where judging others is the preoccupation for a sizeable chunk of the populace. Be it psuedo-intellectualism, outright offensiveness or irrelevance and insanity dressed up as humour.
This is not intended as an attack on Kovacs. I happen to think he is a decent person. I used his quote as an example of kneejerk reactionism.
Wow, who'd of thunk it. Alcohol, pain killers and valium make one quite philothingy, y'know, where you think a lot. It's a novel experience, for me at least.
Place the [ironic][/ironic] tags where you wish as I'm sure I'm guilty of the same crime I accuse others of.

i like gtg. i remember you from seethru. but who are you now?
i feel slightly bad about last night... but it didnt go any further because of my morals and also beacuse my flatmate (who's friend she is) made sure it didn't.
the girl was incredibly attractive but you know, it's not worth it and i am essentially a decent guy most of the time and she was drunk and i have this thing about not sleeping with girls that are extremely drunk.
i tried to pull some chick tonight (zigfrieds on hoxton square, facts fans), but it didnt work. she wasnt drunk enough i guess.

if you mean somebody is gonna glass me, i'm too charming (in real life, not on here obviously) for that.
if you mean the alcohol abuse, i check in to detox every so often, which is a bit of a life line and very necessary. though it's cheating

I'm 33 and male. Regardless of how drunk I am, I'm not going to do you. I did once pretended to be a lesbian in a chatroom, not an 8 year old one I hasten to add. I had this hour long chat with a woman who was getting married to another woman. It changed my whole perspective on homosexuality. I had this mental epiphany that I'd misjudged gay people.
I use this example because it links in quite neatly with your suggestion that I'm a girl. Well anyway, deep seated prejudices can be removed by understanding. I try not see things as good and bad. I don't always manage it but I do try. Just as I would no longer deny the love a woman had for a woman or a man for a man; I cannot deny that sometimes a relationship between two people, that some might call cheating, is necessarily a bad thing. Who am I to judge? So I try not to.
I can say, quite categorically, that suggesting someone die or take their own life is not a good thing. That's not me being judgemental, that's me being serious.

I rang the Samaritans once for the answer to a double division question on my maths GCSE coursework paper. They were kind. But they didn't know the answer.
My God, that's just so meaningful, isn't it?

Meaningful? I don't know. You appear to be joking about it, but children with difficulties at school have taken their own lives. I really don't find that sort of humour appropriate.
