Why don't you just go ahead and put a smiley in there Mikey, it would be a quick and easy alternative to subjecting the rest of us to your self-consciously wacky 'wonkle', 'wrinkle' and 'dommage' bullshit you massively unfunny prick. Seriously, this left endearing behind a long time ago and moved swiftly into incredibly annoying.

Come on, which of the infamous fucking 'chuckle' twins is it? Is it the miserable scottish one or his girlfriend? Which one of these laugh riots is acting the cunting sourpuss this morning? Probably Bamba as he's had the hump with me or is it actually Louche finally cracking?

Get up, you're alseep at the wheel. I mean if that actually is Louche, you could always just use MSN to tell me what you think. Couldn't you? We'll see huh.
That's ok, I can wait, we'll just ask you whenever you show up next yeah? I'll just bring it up with you until you answer. The thing I've found in time is the people with the harshest criticism, have the most to hide.

If we're talking about things that are 'tired', you hypocritical sack of shit, you might want to consider that the whole gloom-laden, misanthropic gig was pretty much tired the day you first thought it up.
They say you shouldn't throw stones when you live in a glass house, well I saw the miserable, pointless, unpleasant shit you spewed at Waynster a few weeks or so back, for having the temerity to consider himself British while living in the Netherlands, before editing it out shortly after, so if you want to criticise the posts of others, you really aren't on terribly solid ground. not only are you an arsehole, but you're a fucking cowardly arsehole, you miserable fucking oxygen thief.

I'd like to know, seeing as Physic and I flew out to Scotland, why the fucking hostility? I had a brilliant time and enjoyed myself immensely so this constant abusive wank comes as a real surprise. Explain please, why it is your behaviour has gone from hospitality to inhospitable. Angry? Why the fuck?

What thread was that on ?
We expats are the remnants of Britain’s great colonial empire. Small bastions of Britishness on foreign shores flying the flag and fighting the fight.

Hmm I didn't see this either Physic, but thanks for bringing it up - If I may I will take the opputunity to answer.
So Louche I can't answer properly as you obviously didn't have testicular fortitude to leave your diatribe in place, but using the gist of what the post was about I would like to politely explain myself - not that I have to but because I want to.
Yep I'm British - I'm proud of it and I live abrad - so why do you have a problem with that? Britain is not a perfect place - like everywhere it has its faults, but its a part of who I am. It is the country of my birth, and that's just who I am. A Brit, and I am damn proud of that. I was proud enough to want to protect it by joining the armed forces - if it came to it, I would have put my life on the line to protect the fundamental beliefs and freedom that you enjoy on a daily basis. So yes I am proud of my heritage.
But as well as that I have a natural curiosity towards people of all races and cultures - of seeing a different way of life, of experiencing first hand the life of others - its not a free ride or a jolly - I pay my taxes like everyone else, I do my best to learn the language, and importantly, get to know and love the locals. I have some amazing Dutch friends, as I had also friends in Germany when I lived there, and others from Belgium when I worked there. If it all goes to plan I hope to make some in Sweden when I go there to work for a while. I learn about them and in return they learn about me and the English - that in turns leads to understanding, and in my own small and maybe insignificant way, I hope that goes a little way to this sometimes nasty old world getting a little better.
I sometimes look at the British people - the way they are, and if I can take a moment to be critical for a moment, some of them have a slight edge to them - the Island breed mentality, but you put that person in another environment and that certain edge is filed away, and I think they become a better person because of it - almost refined if you like. Some of the best Brits I have met are the ones I met abroad. But they only change a little, and for the better, but they retain the fact they are British - I don't know what idea you have about us expatriates, but we don't go around wearing our nationality on our chests everyday, like a travelling football fan or your typical holiday maker in Tenerife - certainly I do where my shirt when a game is on, but I'll do the same when Holland play on occasion, and cheer on the local team. I don't have a St Georges flag flying off of my balcony, but I do when the World Cup is on, as do the Dutch, Turkish, Portuguese, Brazilian and just about every other nationality that resides here - it is not so much a sign of our nationalism, more as a sign of unity in a love of the sport. We all get together and watch the games, and bar one isolated incident of abuse I have received in 8 years, its all incredibly good humoured and an oppurtunity to whilst celebrate our differences, a moment to forget some of them too.
I don't live abroad to escape necessarily my homeland, I live abroad to learn and experience life and to learn - I have a natural curiosity, en exploring passion in me - it drives me and it keeps me alive and in love with life. Sadly it seems judging the sound of the moronic abuse you seem to have posted and then so spinelessly removed, that this is something you have long lost. Sitting behind the protection of your computer screen, so sadly in hate with life, you see a posting from someone and then decide today is hate the world day, and have a pop. You judge someone you do not know, or have never met, question their reasons without research or discussion, then realise your inadequate post, and just remove it. That's really big and clever isn't it? So if you want to have a pop, at least have the decency to try and stand by your convictions and being grown up enough to let me reply. Before this time I had never thought anything bad on you - I almost in retrospect see you as like me in TMO land - one of the less significant posters if you want to use the "In crowd" mentality. I was indifferent towards you but only as I didn't know you, as do you not know me, so I am having a little problem understanding your sudden and short lived outburst. If you have a problem with who I am then fucking say something about it, and at least have the jacobs to let me answer it like an adult, or is this something you still aspire to be?

I have met Waynster and feel compelled to mention that he struck me as one of the most decent and honest people I’ve ever met. If he embodies what it is to be British, then truly being British is something to be proud of. Doesn't matter if he lives in Manchester, Munich, or on Mars.

And I can only reflect, that such a truly wonderful response from someone as equally brilliant as Ringo, just goes to show how wonderful the British can be.
Thanks mate. What a truly wonderful thing to read/

Waynester, the original post was made by Bamba using my login. I didn't get to read it so I can't defend it or otherwise. You can fuck right off with the 'insignificant' crack, though.

I wonder if this is a Scottish thing. I don’t mean this in a bad way, but my experience of the Scottish is that they’re fiercely defensive of their national and cultural identity, while the English seem to take a more relaxed approach. I don’t find it hard to imagine that many Scottish people would consider living abroad to be betraying their heritage while the average Englishman is happy simply to be aware of their cultural identity, even while immersed in one which is completely foreign. Obviously this isn’t true of all English or all Scottish, but I’d say that generally this is one of the biggest differences between us.
Of course, like most things I say, this is only based on really sketchy evidence so if you disagree I’ve not really got any comeback.
