The Masketeers have been downloading tracks off the internet and playing them on the computer and on the CD player in their room. I recognise a lot of what they listen to, sometimes I don't. I ask them what they're playing and sometimes have to arch a surprised eyebrow and nod my approval. Sometimes... like... recently...
I ask them what they're listening to, because I quite like it...
I don't recognise it. It sounds... strange. Yet appealing.

I believe it is - I've just seen 'Checkin' It Out' on Youtube, just for confirmation. I got as far as the bit where he spray-paints a mirror and starts his 'lyrical skillz', before turning it off.
Guilty pleasures. Hmm. I sometimes watch Coronation Street and Eastenders.
Edited to add: and I used to like watching Elvis Presley films when I was a teenager.

Practically everything I listen to is a guilty pleasure when it comes to the general taste in our house. I was listening to Asha Bhosle the other day - 60s and 70s Bollywood - and after a few tracks was told, "That's enough now" as if I was an irritating child playing on a squeaky recorder.
Some of that stuff's mental though. Kind of a reverse Beatles - where The Beatles put sitar onto their western pop songs and they still sounded like western pop songs, The Bollywoods put groovy psychedelic pop guitar and bongos onto their wailing Indian songs and it sounds... well, "That's enough now" probably sums it up really. Bloody great though.

I'm sure I've mentioned this on here before, but I'm ocassionally partial to a dose of Enya. I always think of the description Stan gives of Enya on South Park - "It's... it's cheesy and lame yet eerily soothing..." I completely agree with that.
