Does anybody know of a venue in Brighton, capacity 150-200, that will be able to host a fucking awesome line-up (Simon Bookish, Printed Circuit, PlanningToRock and Kevin Blechdom) on Friday 21st October? I am trying to arrange a gig and the club owner who promised us the night has just pulled out without warning, fucker. Artwork's been done, adverts have gone to press, and he's completely screwed us over. It's a shot in the dark but you helped me identify my bug, so who knows what else the assembled might of TMO is capable of?

Don't want to be a downer but the chances of finding a decent venue that doesn't have a booking for the 21st are pretty slim. How about one of the big pubs on the pier? You might be able to work something out with one of them. Wouldn't hold more than 100-120, though.

Thank you! We've found a venue now, it's called the Hanbury Ballroom. 'Ballroom' sounds nice. Old-fashioned. Anyway, here is the flyer, do come if you're around....
FYI: here's a review of the Kevin Blechdom album - she's great. And here's Simon Bookish's website, and his MySpace , where you can hear his music. Printed Circuit makes little 8-bit loops on a Gameboy and she's ace. And there will be DJs Jo Apps and Matilda Tristram playing excellently offensive booty-bass music (I've been promised some DJ Assault, hurrah!) So yeah if you're around and you fancy it, e-mail me for cheapo guestlist action. Also the next night Afrirampo are playing, as is DJ/rupture, so it could be a fun weekend etc.

That Printed Circuits song 'Banana Split' is teh fucking radness. It's like something that you could dance to but would have to do little cutesy dance moves or you'd look like you think rythm is for losers if you did big moshing arm flails.

Hanbury ballroom rocks. The problem is that they have (or hopefully had) a really sensitive decibel monitor thing that cuts all power if it gets too loud, and therefore most gigs would be about 2 minutes in before the power cut and they had to start again.
I'd make sure you talk to them about that and get it sorted before the start London.

Thanks for tip - will do. Yeah, Printed Circuit is quite cutesy. Me and Benway saw her ages ago: I think I liked her more than he did. He said the retro-ness left a bad taste in his mouth but I thought it was maybe the stale tobacco he was smoking.
