I also use a Gilette Mach 3. I tried a cheap electric shaver for a while but it had trouble with my stubborn neck hairs, so I went back to the gel and blade system. I imagine you could probably get something pretty decent if you were willing to pay £80+ for one of those flash Phillishave ones with the pearlescent paint job.

I use the mach3 and oil (oil, not foam es muy importante) to shave on Mondays and Fridays only, but its a bugger to close shave every day, so the rest of the time I use a €10 battery shaver I got from Tesco. Best of both worlds you might say.

I also use a witch-hazel based non-shine moisturiser afterwards

I use Immac bikini wax on my flange.

I have a beard.

Mind, for tidying I use a Mach3 and King of Shaves gel, all electric razors I've ever used from cheap to expensive were pants compared to a blade shave.

I do have a beard trimmer though and on setting one it gives you as close to a shave as you can get, think a day and a halfs stubble depending on how hirsute you are..

Why on earth have you decided to go from wet shave to inferior electric?

Recommendations?

Soap, cold water, razor.

I use a Mach 3 as well and though an electric shaver is more convenient, I'd never go back to one.

I haven't, but a friend told me it's 'like being shaved by a parkinsons sufferer on crack'.

I spent a stupid amount of money on one of them eppylator things. I could just about cope with the indescribable pain if it worked well, but it doesn't even rip all the hairs out in one swoop.

Writing a massive cheque for someone to light-sabre them off seems like the only option.

What I object to is the colour of some of these wheelie bins and where they are left, in some areas outside all week in the front garden.

I've got one of those epilators as well. I find it very good. You're right that the first time you do it, it's quite painful. It becomes less so following this, since each time thereafter there are never as many hairs to remove as the first time, also your nerves become desensitised to any pain.

It never feels quite as smooth as a really good shave but it feels miles better than blunt-ended razor stubble.

I found that after a couple of goes with a light sabre the remaining baby soft fluff can be easily and pretty much painlessly removed with an epilator. Until it broke (at about 10 years old).

I can still remember the uproar when Bob Dylan started using an electric razor.

More of a buzz than an uproar.

If you find a handy technical college close by, the students often have a salon attached and they'll do it for practically nothing. My nearest one does a course of 6 sessions of electrolysis for about £22.

There is one of these places near Oxford circus. I dont think they have light sabres, and the girl I got for electrolysis had clearly only just started and was rubbish. They are well cheap though. I think it was Margret st.

You know how Vikram would post exotic pictures of his travels and tell stories of the beautiful people he had met and the wild times he was having. Well i have met a depressed bar man from Elephant and Castle and some Scousers who had an unhealthy interest in ladyboys. Living the dream!

However I am growing a beard. It is good. It gives me something to play with when I am sat at the bar on my own.
