Louche says that TMO is a bit dull at the moment. I'm not sure about the other two.

Hello Vikram! I just can't be bothered to post much any more, and when I do, I am but a pale shadow of my old self - 'with little to say and even less wit to say it with', as Brainbox said over on Seethru. Best erase me from your mind, or make do with Louche. She's ginger, scabrous, and probably never ever ever gets taken up the Oxo Tower, not even just once just to see what it feels like.

Hmmm. Searching for a picture of Joally Richardson that looks more like Louche I came across this site about "visible lesbians" - as opposed, presumably, to "invisible lesbians" (which I reckon could be the seed for a great Thorn Davis screenplay). Anyway - check out Nip and Tuck tonight... it sounds awesomely rad.

Whatever she said about me wouldn't change whether my view on her is true, though, would it.

Her posts are all stuck in some kind of northern-gothic 1980s angst-cycle. They are like Adrian Mole in his black-painted-bedroom period. They are the diary of a thirteen year-old listening to "There Is A Light That Never Goes Out" on cassette. Thorn also does this morbid life-as-autopsy routine, but only as a base, lazy note: he often springs into surprisingly passionate energy. I can't think of the last time Louche surprised me.

And as I said, really her view of my posts has nothing to do with whether I'm right about this.

Kovacs you are ronger than Ringo.

Pages 4 thru 7 of that thread Louche aquitted herself in a way I've not seen many do, like, ever in terms of challenging lazywidespread prejudice and assumption with cold, hard fact and hot, muscular argument.

As you say of Thor, the waspish, sour goth may be default position but she's demonstrated way more than that - to those who are paying attention.

Huff-huff you're a fine one to talk, Bamba, given that Louche ceased posting after you dished out one of your patented Yea,-From-The-Summit-Of-Sinai bollockings because of her posts about Bret Easton Ellis.

You deleted it - but the venom had already taken hold...

On that very same thread you called her an 'unclean spirit' so don't be starting on me.

Anyway, the very idea that anyone (and Louche of all people) would give so much credence to anything I say is laughable.

Where is Gemini? It hailed the other day and I thought "how bizarre", as I will probably go on doing for the entire rest of my life, thanks to her maiden thread.

I'm glad it's not just me. The other day, I watched Flash Gordon and when Ming's finger hovered over the button marked HOT HAIL, I thought of Gemini's classic line. Judging by his expression, Flash thought much the same.

That was just Louche's droning "grimmer-up-north-than-thou" routine: like a cold wind it quickly turns my ears numb and her voice just becomes a dismal assault.

Reading it now, I admit there is solid material there, along with effort, research, determined argument. But --

Awkward "Dungeons-and-Dragons" style prose

I have seen a scheme which took drug addicts, cleaned them up,...I have seen mothers of three who got pregnant at 14 get a NVQ Level 2 in Child Care... One youth centre in Knowsley where I funded a project has a wall papered three thick with thank you letters. ...It’s humbling.

Drafty local council meeting

Omikin, I know I'm not without fault by any means, but I don't think that should stop me from commenting on others.

Or do we all have to put our own houses in order before we can criticise people.

In that case, I think you should get out your "Marigolds" and your "Dyson".
