While I still feel American in that I love cable television and junk food and blatant commercialism, I don’t fit in with the views of the Moral Majority. At this point, it doesn’t feel like this will change anytime soon [Frown]

Seriously considering moving elsewhere, any suggestions for places froopy and I would fit in?

and this is what makes me [Frown] to.
this whole fucking place. all these people who voted republican because "bush is tough" "smaller government" "he's right".

may as well just say " I DON'T LIKE BLACKS, GAYS AND WOMEN".
fuckers.
i'm moving at the end of this visa.

these ***** want to be left alone want america to be able to do its thing and not be bothered. they don't see that their economic instability has knock on effects for the rest of the world, that their foreign policy leaves great big fucking footprints all over the world, that their christian beliefs are holding this country back, that the stars and the moon are the limits to our world and that we shouldn't want more than god's love.

wankcockfuckdogshitpissflaps.

I have never, ever felt this bad. To be honest, I'm really thinking that there is the distinct possibility of tears before bedtime.

is it just me...or is this election not over until the fat ohio-ians sing?

(eta - nevermind that first sentence.)

this morning i have cursed.
cried.
but i haven't given up.

if bush does buy this election
i will curse and cry more
thinking about lives (not yet) lost worldwide
but i still won't give up my hope that my country can change for the better.
each vote does count. unfortunately even the bought ones.

kerry isn't americas saviour.
i doubt he will/would change the way americans react against the concept of gay marriage, sex education in school, abortion, and other freedoms of choice.
those freedoms were sold down the river long ago. bought and payed for by rich white men praising the lord in the southern states, riding the wave of fal$e religion. taking from honest working folk while promising them a vote for a god fearing man is the same as a vote for heaven. each time little sue ellen puts her nickel in the collection plate uncle bush prospers.

in my opinion, kerry just seems so bright and shiney because bush is a grungy rat sucking mamas boy.

so, we wait and see.
we get a new president.
we fight for reform.

or we complain.

he wasn't so special to begin with.

it's four more years of feckup.
they are only four lost years if all those against bush's policies
give up too.

There's always the hope that a defeat will energize the "troops". I remember the 1988 elections, Bush 1 against Michael Dukakis, who failed to convey a strident message and was thoroughly trounced at the polls. The subsequent few years were painful enough that it mobilised people, including myself. It's what made me spend a few years working political campaigns, from the town and state goverment level ('90 and '91) to the state and national level ('92). And I still relish Clinton's win in '92 - even though I only played a very small part in the campaign. Perhaps now that another Bush has come out in front of another Massachusetts democrat, and will no doubt continue or amplify the misguided policies of the past four years, perhaps - just perhaps - the opposition will come together with the focus and energy needed to make a difference in four years.

Just perhaps.

Signed,

Froopyscot for President 2008 Investigative Committee (1 member and counting).

After Clinton's second win, the Republicans honed their message down to one or two lines - those one or two lines banged again and again to the core vote rather than the middle ground made all the difference.

Bush consistently fought this election on security/terror despite Kerry's attempts to bring the debate back to home issues.

With unemployment souring in America and the economy stuck in recession, there hasn't been a terrorist attack on US soil for 3 years, despite the fact that Bin Laden still hasn't been caught. The only tangible terror threat to US interests now comes from Iraq - but major conflict was declared over in May 2003!

I wonder if Bush would have been so successful in his campaign had US troops successfully quelled the resistance in Iraq? Why has it taken such a superior force 3 failed attempts to capture the small town of Fallujah? Why have they still not managed to secure Iraq's borders and prevent foreign fighters from migrating to the area?

What's the betting that, now he's back for 4 more years, we miraculously see the mess in Iraq get sorted out before 2005?

We'd be better off with a credible journalist or documentary film-maker who would have the courage to investigate the topics Moore focuses on. I'd wager very few Bush supporters or undecided voters saw Fahrenheit 9/11; Moore is lauded by the left but despised by the right, and is a polarizing figure such that his work simply does not reach the unconvinced.

Boils down to preaching to the choir...

2 things I am confused about:

1) Are Thorn and Octavia going out?

2) How can G W Bush be pro death penalty but anti abortion?

The first question is much more important.

1. They are off-board pals but she is, as yet, wary of teh cock. I don't know. Maybe it's none of your fucking business, Gemini. Get a life, hey?

2. From the moment of conception an irreducible and immortal soul exists - it is precious as anything else in creation and no one has any right to put an end to it but Him who made it. If He so choses, He may also visit deformities and burning agonies upon His littlest child, the better to test the resolve of that child's mortal parents and reveal to them the GLORY of His mercy. So be it. A convicted murderer, on the other hand, is a lost soul in this world and must face a HIGHER JUDGEMENT without delay, the sooner to be reconciled with The Maker Of Us All. Find out more here, my Godless child.

ah I see several posters are allowed to fudge round the issue but no-one is suppose to actually just come out and ask. Sorry, my mistake - let rumour and speculation abound.

As for the URL, I think it needs at least 1/2 bottle of wine to understand it and I'm sober this week.
