Yeah, well spotted. The next door neighbour brought round a bottle of cheap red as a thankyou for me helping him get his van going after it got stuck in the boggy piece of ground outside our house.
Also: could someone inform Bamba that, having gone from merely skimming his posts to just receiving the potted gist by email from other forites, I'm now not even going to do that. I'll just send the email back with some forged stuff about "the recipient could not be found" in the header and body text. He's just not worth it, man, you know - the hassle of responding to him? Fuck that. He's just totally immature and not worth bothering with. Fuck him. I just don't fucking care, yeah? I just can't be arsed - it's just a waste of my time and everyone's bandwidth. Bollocks to it. I can't be arsed.

Likewise, if someone could inform Ben that taking it out on me just because he got his arse spanked by the entire forum for being a grumpy, cowardly, self-righteous fuck-knuckle just makes him look like a bigger twat than before that would be appreciated.

Courtesy of BoingBoing, here's an interesting map of the USA with states coloured in shades between blue and red, depending on the margins of victory:

"Taking it out" on you? Christ. I was taking the piss out of your superlame post/withdraw/claim-"can't-be-arsed" schtick. If you think that's you getting it with both barrels you really must have been posting on a different board from me all this while.
Also: a rib-tickling by Damo and NWOD = "spanked by the entire forum"?

Shut the hell up bitching at each other and look at the pretty map I found. It's mostly purple as you can see. Unless you're using Ghostzilla of course, in which case it would be grey. But I assume you're not.
Maybe you've seen too much red today. Maybe that's what all this is about...

That is a worrying map. The good people of the Internet must not be as numerous as you might think. Though they did come up with this suggestion...

Here's what Star Trek's Wil Wheaton posted on his blog this morning:

quote:The amazing thing to me about this race was that Bush could be as divisive as he wanted to be, but it never penalized him. The most important things in the world were responded to with infantile answers or complete ignorance. Where he stood was clear. Simplicity wins.
Apparently, my country holds a fundamentally different set of values than I thought we did, and that scares the shit out of me. I still believe that Bush is bad for America, and though I'm virtually certain that the next four years will be an absolute disaster. Not just because we have gotten four more years of the Bush agenda, but because this election has been an enthusiastic endorsement of that agenda.
I hoped I would wake up this morning to the good news that our long national nightmare was over.

The headlines make for pretty depressing reading today as well. I just nipped to the shop for some milk and ended up brushing a tear away when faced with The Guardian, Independent and Times with the headline "Four More Years".

I do have to admit that I found it rather funny to see old Bennyboy start moaning and snapping at the non-entities on this board now that the obvious target isn't around much. Maybe it's you who should get a life, m8.
To get back on topic somewhat, I agree with Sabian that Bush is the the right man domestically but not at all internationally. But then there is little real difference between the two main parties anyway as far as the rest of the world is concerned.
I heard that Al Gore grew a beard after being beaten in 2000 - I'd suggest that John Kerry doesn't do the same, just in case some people this side of the pond confuse him with Jimmy Hill.
I guess the only problem with Bush winning is that we will have to put up with four more years of Michael Moron trapsing around him home town (lol!) of Flint, Mi moaning about how things are so bad. When in reality the fat fuck is raking it in by producing badly-made home-movies.

Um, HOW!?! And please elucidate your familiarity with the issues that would make someone the right man domestically. Support of constitutional amendment to make certain people less than? Denying women the right to choose? Billions of dollars on abstinence education and other referendums that shove moral right down the throats of the public? The complete inability to form a sentence?

I say Bush is the right man domestically in that if I were American I would have seen him - inability to form a sentence notwithstanding - as the candidate with a better sense of direction and purpose.
I got the impression that while Bush was pretty consistent with regard to his objectives while Kerry simply flip-flopped in a futile attempt to snare floating voters. The fact that the result was not as close as last time or as predicted by the media pundits is telling.
But then I guess if I were American I would be a Republican anyway.
Grianagh - yes, perhaps the US does need another revolution. And as for the anti-MM remarks, well - the man is painfully annoying. More so than Ben, even.
