what pastimes, work, interests, passions will or may be side-lined due to 'routine' weekend endevours? ME: I need to complete the painting of the spare room. I'm a quarter of the way there on the 2nd coat and the skirting boards are screaming for gloss, believe me they'd lap from my hand. But the situation has now turned epic and I have been putting it off or looking for a diversion. Maybe Sunday, with The Queens of the Stone Age, they'll help out and they owe me one.

The people on the PWEInation board are the nicest people ever. I met this guy and had a ten minute chat outside Shepherds Bush at the PWEI reformation gigs and he replied to my blatant plug with:
quote:When you're coming up north give me a shout and we'll sort you with a gig and crash space.
and thanks roy! We hope to see hooligans smashing up the streets and singing it loudly whilst old folk cower indoors. Nice commentary.

Well, I think that's a really nice website actually, and I also very much enjoyed listening to Menthol whilst, coincidentally, chewing a menthol and eucalyptus flavour Airwaves. Can you make some slightly politer t-shirts though, for the older fan?

Menthol really reminds me of 1989/1990 house music. The piano and mad drums; the sample that you could imagine really doing your head in on a pill as you tried to work out what it was saying; the changes of tempo.

I think he wants the Queen of the Stone Age to help him paint his spare room.
Funny thing is, he says "They will help me out and owe ME one" as if painting his spare room is some kind of personal favour Zebraboy grants people.

I should point out that the MP3 of Menthol is at a very early stage. The live version we've been rehearsing is an altogether different beast, replete with a heavily distorted thrash guitar and thumping bass replicating the lower end of the synth part. Glad you like it though - I do have a soft spot for the simplicity of this mix.

I've got lots of rooms that need stripping then painting if Queens of the Stone Age or anyone else wants to help out. I'm considering having a party called 'The Big Strip' where everyone strips and er, strips, and er, I dunno, plays 'Put your clothes back on Poker' or something and gets drunk and stuff.

No. Our design aesthetic is red, white and black. We're not racist! My bedroom is going to have white walls and then I'm going to strip off the municipal lino and polish up the concrete floor and paint it red. Londons room is going to be white walls and a white polished concrete floor.
Here is a picture of our front room with little London and I reflected in the window:
white walls and flowers, red wine (and jacket I'm wearing) and black table and laptop. Perfectly fitting in with our design aesthetic!

Football? I'm getting out my retro rollerskates which are currently in our 'Cupboard of Hate' - there's this cupboard just outside our front door where someone - presumably the kid of the people who lived here before but you can never tell - has carved "HaTE iS ALL i fEEl" on the door :rad: We now put things that don't have a place, that smell bad, or that we hate in it, but we LOVE that cupboard!
Anyway, I should stop talking about our beautiful new flat.
Have we established what this thread is about? Is it about things that you should be doing but aren't this weekend? I'm not meant to be doing anything. Last night I turned in a beautifully crafted essay on a modern contextualist history of Wallace's definitions of the boundaries of science and how that affected his reputation as a scientist. This leaves me this weekend for debauchery. Which unfortunately sees me in on my own with expensive wine tonight while my sister plays hooky in my clothes that I need for tomorrow night. She is missing for TEH SECOND NIGHT IN A ROW! *sigh*

I'm actually wondering how Zebraboy is getting on with his painting. We haven't heard from him. Maybe he's had a nasty accident. Perhaps he was a light that shone for half as long, but twice so bright.

hello kira! I made that absinthe joke on VDay night as it happens!
Um, yeah well I was going to say that either zebraboy was trying to make an 'inclusive' comment on racial origins or perhaps he was just, er, hung like a zebra?
