Just imagine, Les Miserables with a crack squad of red-coats mountng the stage and counterpointing their startled warbling with a screamed chorus of Bohemian Rhapsody.

Christ I'm getting old. I watched the Stirling Prize thing tonight: no great surprises, teh Gherkin won by a mile. From what I saw, I'd have voted for that 'school of da future', the disastrously named Bexley Business Academy - the footage they showed was actually quite moving... an authentic and effective conception of what a place of learning could be about, once untethered from the 'classic' concrete-box-with-kids-all-facing-one-way-looking-at-teach.
The worst entry by far was the redesigned 'public spaces' in Coventry city centre. By some evil miracle, the designers seemed to have used top spec materials and weeping-edge design to make central Coventry even more soulless and mugger-friendly than hitherto. Best example of designer hubris: doleful camera pan over where the vandals had already got to work on this brand spanking new collision of architecture, sculpture and art - the designer himself blustering away about how "we're not making any concessions to the mindless two per cent who are vandals - we've used the very best materials and not 'dumbed down' (ie. made idiot-proof) any aspect of it at all."

Actually the reason no-one really does burn-outs in an Escot Cosworth is because they're 4wd, meaning that there's a bit too much traction for that.
Aside from that, most people who own Cosworths do thrash the shit out of them. As I once said to a friend of mine, the fundamental difference between people who own Skyline's and people who own Cosworths is this - you never see a Skyline going fast and you never see a Cosworth going slow.
