I'll try and squeeze a blankey or two into the Poomer but the tiny excuse for a boot is currently filled with a grands worth of subwoofer and amplifier, and the back seat is going to contain a whole human, something which ford never actually counted on, so space is limited, what with bags and suchlike.
I could maybe compromise and remove one of the subs...

I think we've got a sleeping bag at home which I can bring down with me on the train, if that helps.

Sounds like we'll be hearing you coming over the Snake Pass (isn't that the greatest name for a road) some time before you actually turn up then. Boompty bomp poop poop....

I shall endeavour to bring a selection of Louche Household warming blanket things as I will be in the car. I shall share these liberally with my fellow forumites. Because I have a generous soul.

Louche, I have a space blanket at home. You could perhaps wrap yourself in it and pretend to be a giant Kitkat or summat, to make yourself more alluring?

I could be a giant alien or a mangled marathon runner. Cools. Can I stagger round in it, mumbling?

Can I just get something clear in my mind please? On Saturday at t'meat the sleeping arrangements are that there will be separate dorms for ladies and non-ladies, and in t'ladies dorm there will be Astro, Louche, Sidney, Miffysocks and me. Is that right?

Got it in one. Actually two. Rooms. (One of which will have a single and double futon, one of which has a double futon). Think we should put all snorers in one room to get some sort of comedy late night barbershop trio effect.
Lads dorm is three separate beds, cos I know they're funny about such things.

Uber we have 2 ladies dorms, one for 2 and one for 3 ladies. We can put boys up in the sitting room - room for 3 ditto if they are cosy kinda guys.
Also a tent for the back garden if anyone is so inclined. Me and Lucid have the biggest bed in the universe but we're not sharing it with anyone. Cos we smell. Well he does and I snore. So you really wouldn't want to.

Also on a train from Leeds, though probably around midday/1pm/2pm. That's not 'morning', is it. Never mind, we'll see you there. Innit.

Wait!
The one I hope to catch leaves Starbeck at 11.08 - I change at Leeds for one departing at 12.08... arriving at Mancester at 13.08!
I will then meet up with my bro and then toddle on to wherever shiznit is happnin'.

Well, that sounds ace, except for...
1) We're still not sure we can make it, due to MiniGree and factors relating thereto; and
2) I understand, from Lucid himself, no less, that general kick-off at his place is around 3.30pm. Catching the 12.08 from Leeds would put us in Glossop at just before 2pm. Which is well early. (Unless we then spent some time wandering round Manchester.) On the other hand we would be willing to muck in and help the hosts organise stuff before the masses arrive, or something. I dunno.
3) Like I say, apart from that the idea is a grand one, crossing the frontier into forren land together and all that.

Mart - how about: I will be on that train and will poke my head out of the window/improperly use the emergency cable/create a fountain of vandal-strength export lager to alert you to my whereabouts. If youse can make it: kewl. If not: meh.
thb. I was planning on spending a bit of quality time with bro in the afternoon, prior to the meet - but given that Lucid and Memes are cool about ramblers rambling in whenever, I guess you/we can head up there, like, whenevs.Posts: 8657

A quick note before I disappear back into lurking 'n' working - if any of you cats are going to be in Mancunian and can't make it to Glossop - your train gets delayed or you're just arriving too late, Stevie and I will be around in town to pick up any strays. Send us an email (available on request, since I started getting my ass spammed.)

There is, of course, 'Bottoms' reservoir and "The Chocolate Box" for those who like a double entendre..however I'm rather a fan of "Finlay McInlay" the Chemist myself.

Aiiie! I can't believe it's tomorrow. This time tomorrow I will be on the train. Perhaps tucking into an egg and cress sandwich, and perusing all the easy reading bits of the guardian magazine.
