Ah. The image has changed yet again. At one point it was a shot of a bear in a river, with a salmon in it's mouth. Now I think that's one of Fabio, or perhaps ralphio.

you should temporarily become an Amish, like how parents here find God for just long enough to get their kids into the local Anglican or Catholic school. The Amish put up houses in a day!

On another note, I'm having a lot of difficulty lining up someone to excavate the building site. Noone is calling me back. Hey froopy, you don't by any chance own a bulldozer and a backhoe, do you?

Not as much as you'd expect. There's a guy in town who uses his for $50 an hour. If only I could get in touch with him.

I know, it would be gross if I did. Like Americans thinking everyone here was like the BB housemates. Its hard not to be influenced. I will get to America one day, but it'll be a few years.

Nope, but I have a local rental shop that will do daily rentals, in the $250-350 per day range depending on the equipment needed, plus delivery charges naturally. Probably too far to do you any good though.

Does the backhoe come with someone with the knowledge to operate it? I don't have that knowledge.
I just got off the phone with a guy in the next town who does excavation. He's going to drop by tomorrow morning to give us an estimate.

We've hired a man to do the excavation! He should be free in two or three weeks to do the work, which means I have two or three weeks to take down all the trees that will be in his way. His estimate to do the work was about half of what I was expecting to have to pay, so we're already saving money.
No word on the financing yet, but these things take time I suppose.
On an unrelated note, my seven year old son just called to tell me what my family woke up to this morning. In our woods, back by the trampoline, was a female moose. My wife took pictures, but I'm genuinely pissed that I didn't get to see it. I've never seen a moose in the flesh.

God that's heartbreaking - that picture's called 'ugly woman alone'. Poor ugly woman. I hope she finds someone willing to look past the superficial and treasure her for her other qualities.

A casual observer would probably think that ralph was talking about this internet message board thread, but in truth he was referring to the last thread of sanity to which he's desparately been clinging for the last decade.
