Someone else is welcome to have a go if they want though. I guess the ASP just needs a line or two to check if the filename already exists and return an error message if this is the case.

Quick look on the web throws up this bit of code which should be easy enough to tweak:
Use the FileExists method of the FileSystemObject from ASP to check if the file exists.
code:
Dim fs, strFileNameAndPath
strFileNameAndPath = Your file name ' -- Use file name and path ' -- from the database. Remember to map it ' -- to the Web Server's point of view. ' -- Use Server.MapPath for help.
Set fs = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject") If fs.FileExists(strFileNameAndPath) Then ' -- file exists else ' -- file does not exist end if

I'm playing Rainbow Six Go To Las Vegas at the moment, or rather I bought it yesterday and played for an hour. It's pretty fucking great, so far as a can tell, with a cover system quite similar to and almost as effective as Gears of War. The graphics are absolutely gorgeous, and there's some fun options for entering a room; you can set up members of The Rainbow Gang to cover a different door, and then you all burst in guns blazing, at the same time. It kind of gives you the feeling of being a part of the well-oiled Rainbow Gang. Or, it would if I didn't keep doing things like throwing a grenade when I meant to open a door and blowing myself up. Anyway - it's a good bet for people who enjoyed Ghost Recon, or Gears of War, or for PS3 owners who want to play something similar to either of those games but can't because they bought a PS3.

I read a review of Rainbow Sicks Vegas and apparently it's a bit dumbed down comnpared to the previous games in the series. I might download the PC trial version at some point, anyway.
I started playing Zelda on the Wii last night. This is my first Zelda game and I probably only played for an hour or so, but I'm not terribly impressed so far. Am I missing something, or does the game pick up significantly as you get into it?
I can quite believe that The Rainbow Six Do Las Vegas is dumbed down from previous R6 games, but I never played any of the others so I don't care. A lot of the time with PC tactical shooters 'dumbed down' usually just means 'playable'. The PC gaming community tends to think they've been delivered an intellectual short hand if a computer game doesn't feature nineteen keyboard shortcuts, each pulling up five opions in a tactical menu, innumerable weapons customisations that make an imperceptible difference in their performance, and can be picked up by a new player in less than a week.

I know what you're saying, but I quite enjoyed the tactical aspect of the previous games. You could set up a detailed plan of action before each mission, which was half the fun of the game. The many different ways of going about a mission added to the replayability. But I seem to remember it was all optional and you could just choose a default plan and get straight into the action, if desired.
I'm not sure how much of the tactical side is included in RS:V but I imagine it might not suit the pick-up-and-play nature of a console game.
I tried to say 'console game' without making it sound like a put-down, but it did anyway, didn't it? Sorry.

finished Saints Row on Sunday. Strange ending. Unsatisfactory. Rocked out on Guitar Hero so hard that I started to feel that I was melding with the controller somehow, and that I'd ascended to a zen like state of timing and co-ordination.

Has anyone heard about Mirror's Edge, the forthcoming game from the people who made Battlefield?

Well, I've only been able to catch snippets. I did watch the end of the nintendo presentation yesterday and Miyamoto/ Reggie were showing off a new Wii attachment that's basically one of those steps you use in step aerobics, and it links into a game called Wii Fit. Wii Fit didn't look great - like Wii Sports only with an exercise angle, but the combination of the wii remote and the step could maybe make for some interesting games.
Silent Hill 5 comes out next year for Ps3 / Xbox
New, slimmer/cheaper PSP coming out
Sony showed some pretty awesome GT5 footage
That's all I can remember. I'll have a proper look tonight.

That's why Ghostzilla exists, m9. Can't really do video footage though.
*Wii Fit looks like stupid fun - comes with a 'Balance Board' which seems to contain four weighing scales. It can detect whether you're leaning more on your left or right foot, and front-back movement. The games that come with it include hula hoop spinning, yoga, and dancing.

You don't fancy an online game of Wii Super Mug Carry Challenge then Thorn?
More up your street perhaps?
Above looks pretty pointless really. It's just a gun shaped frame to stick your remote and nunchuck in. Apparently it will be $20 in the states and will come with a Wii Play style set of mini games. They've also announced a Wii Wheel for the forthcoming Mario Kart game. Nothing special.
