Nice. Could you pretend I've been missing for a few years and do me?

Tomb Raider Anniversary is excellent. That'll work on your PS3. It even has progressive scan support too so it doesn't look totally bobbins on high def TVs (one thing that really marred my enjoyment of RE4)

LOL.

Looks it too.

BUT it will do some rather neat new tricks now, DVD upscaling, media streaming and act as a webportal for the PSP so it's quicker to browse the net, it's also now able to play youtube (which for me will be a godsend and keep the kid quiet for hours).

Poor showing on the games front, I'm still kind of hoping to get Dead Rising which it's rumoured might be available next year.

TH: Project 8 is a great game, like all the Tony Hawks games really.

Should be some awesome games coming out though, like Colin Mcrae DiRT which looks superb, and LittleBigPlanet which should be a fantastic game if it delivers everything it promises.

But actually genuinely, as i said above, I reckon TR:Anniversary is very much worth buying, even if it doesn't take advantage of the hardware. It's definitely one of the best games I've played.

Download GT:HD when you sign up for the Sony Network just to show the potential.

Tiger Woods is good, nice and relaxing stuff and is good fun for online play.

First person shooters make you feel ill, right? Counts out Call of Duty. Sonic the Hedghog is pretty but I think by being so advanced from the original it has lost its charm a bit.

What sort of games do you like mate?

I don't know what sort of games I like really, I have Tiger Woods on the PSP now and that's a good relaxing game, I've played right the way through Family Guy, A Couple of Xmen games (I thought of buying Marvel: Ultimate Alliance which looks OK)all the Ratchet and Clanks (PS3 game due this autumn) and Daxters (with Jax) so I guess something along those lines maybe, though I'd love to take Dead Rising out for a test drive but it's still an XBox exclusive..

Well it's all wored in and running its network update, maybe later tonight I'll hook into the internet and go buy a game or two in the morning.

Doesn't it just show off the Full HD though, bloody hell, I'd forgotten quite how good that picture is when getting the right source..

It's worth getting some Blu-Ray movies. Casino Royale in particular looks absolutely stunning. GT:HD will make you have a total eyegasm. Even if just sitting on the race screen watching the 'helicopter' camera pan around the hugely detailed race track.

Dial me in as a buddy later too. mazdachris I think is what I called myself. We can play games and stuff together maybe, when they release something worth playing online.

Please TMO. Please stop me from buying an Xbox 360 and undoing some of my hard work clearing my credit card.

It's just... Everyone has Forza 2 and they're all playing it online every night and posting up screenshots and I'm really having a hard time not to buy one.

Please talk me out of it.

Buy *rFactor for £24.99 instead, and then download as many of the huge variety of *cars, tracks and series as you like. Legally and for free. I've recently been enjoying the Historic Rally Cars mod, which includes the ludicrous Metro 6R4, Audi Quattro, etc.

Xbox is gey.

Have you ever had the fortune to see a Metro 6R4 being driven in anger? They make the most amazing noise. Goes in your ears and reverberates through your entire body, erecting every single hair. Amazing cars, just shatteringly fast.

So I have.

All they'll do is serve to disrupt you from snooker practice, surely. I'm a tad disappointed. The extra time you'll be utilising careering console cars around bends at 150 miles per hour, could be spent knocking in your first century break. Priceless memories...

*sigh*

I haven't got one. I bought a second hand Xbox yonks ago, but it broked a few months back. Probably due to lack of serious usage.

ETA: Ignore the above if you were referring to Ringo's.

I know I know. To be honest I've been coming to the conclusion that our local snooker place is in fact shite. It's generally full of morons. Either old fuckers who eye you with suspicion and stand 30 deep around a single table, applauding and nodding knowlingly at any shot which doesn't result in the ball being blasted violently from the table, or it's young yobs with baseball caps, red faces, and eyes too close together. Who just seem to take it in turns seeing how fast they can smack a ball around the table. And all the tables are completely rubbish. Most you can't play a single shot down the rail, slow shots always roll off line (and I'm not talking about the nap of the cloth here, I mean rolling seriously), and the dimples in the cloth where the balls generally sit mean it's almost impossible to accurately pot a ball off its spot. Add to that the fact the tables are absolutely filthy, and you end up having grimy sticky hands after a couple of frames, and it's just not a nice experience. You can book a match table which is marginally better (two of these still have stitches in the baize though, where thye've been repaired, and one has two sets of lines on, where they've stretched the cloth and had to redraw it) but they're like £7/h and it's just not good value for money.

Hmmm. That sounds horrific. By the sounds of it, one would be lucky to knock in a break of thirty on tables like these. Can't you join a local working mens' club? I've joined four and the tables are maintained immaculately. Average price is 20p per half an hour. Can't go wrong.
